Smoke Report on Southern Cross

This is a smoke report on a varietal developed by the ole streaker himself Skeeter. I have been asked several times about this varietal and since there is no smoke report section yet I'll post it here. If the ModGods don't like it here they can move it to a more appropriate spot.

Joe you do not know what you are missing. In about the fourth week of bloom the very noticeable scent of berries fills the room, sweet and pungent. By the end of the ninth week there is the unmistakable smell of blueberries and citrus blossoms. It begins to purple up about five weeks in and all of the sugar leaves and inner buds are purple. The sunleaves have trikes half way down the leaf which makes the trim just incredible for a kief sifter as the sweet blueberry flavor comes through on the taste buds. The hash has a sweetness to it as well, with a very up floaty high that has great legs.

I just pulled one of the few buds I have left out of the jar after a one and a half month cure. When I opened the jar the whole room smelled of blueberry muffins with orange marmelade undertones. Excuse me while I load a scone in the bubbler. Ere try a hit Joe, the smoke is very smooth as it was grown organically as usual. It has plenty of expansion so leave some room in the lungs for it. Sniffing the scone for the fresh load test there is the rich pungent sweet aroma of blueberry muffins. Pulling that first hit and you taste the blueberries and citrus on the inhale and a sweetness. On the exhale is blueberries and hash undertones. I have a one gram scone on my bubbler and I have not finished a scone in one sitting but a few times. Usually a half scone pretty much gets the job done. The high starts out above the eyes and a numbness around the top of the head, up and buzzy. Fifteen minutes later your skin becomes very sensitive to the touch. Yes, this is great sex weed as every sensation is very much heightened. Each and every hair is alive. An hour later an extreme calm begins to flow down the body, the pain in my feet simply disappear. This is not a couchlock at this point unless you have over indulged; if so, plan on becoming a couch potatoe.

This is the most potent of the berry flavors that I have grown or smoked to date. It is not the most potent in the garden don't get me wrong. From seed she was an 8.0 on the Richter scale. I now have two clones that are two weeks away from the flip. The clones were left under a T5 for one month and topped. There are literally hundreds of bud sites this time. The other thing that is very noticable is that from seed she did not have much of a stink in veg. The clones are giving off a pungent odor in veg about ten times the original mom! Man-O-Man I certainly hope that is an indication of even more berries in my jars. Here is some pics of the clones at about 70 days.

"In the uptake of nutrients from the soil food web, sulphur is the catalyst for carbon chemistry, boron gives us sap pressure and silicon builds the capillary action that transports plant sap. Only then can calcium, magnesium and amino acids be delivered to cell division sites for chlorophyll manufacture. As chlorophyll catches light, phosphorous transfers energy into sugar production—after which a mix of sugars and more complex products follow potassium through the silica pathways to provide energy or its storage wherever required in the plant."

Thanks simple, it was simple to grow, requires low nutrients in organic soil. Yea, the old hippie did a right fair to middlin job on developing this one. As it is a polyhybrid of Joey's NL/C99 x Bubbbleberry/AK47, several different phenos are present. All about the same potency, but none with the incredible smell and taste of this one.
