it's funny, i was in the barber shop this morning, waiting for my turn in the chair, and i started reading through an old issue of, appropriately enough.... rolling stone.. LOL... that's where i learned of it. so after my cut, i went home and tried to remember the website that the magazine had mentioned and, sure enough, the rolling stones singing a rice krispy commercial..

I just wish they all died in a plane crash ten years ago so they wouldn't have become such a sad joke.

"In the uptake of nutrients from the soil food web, sulphur is the catalyst for carbon chemistry, boron gives us sap pressure and silicon builds the capillary action that transports plant sap. Only then can calcium, magnesium and amino acids be delivered to cell division sites for chlorophyll manufacture. As chlorophyll catches light, phosphorous transfers energy into sugar production—after which a mix of sugars and more complex products follow potassium through the silica pathways to provide energy or its storage wherever required in the plant."

It doesn't have anything to do with age imho. I don't respect their money grubbing, it has made them a joke.

If they had any balls what-so-ever they would open their concert in China with "Street Fighting Man" and "paint It Black" and give the communist leadership a finger in the eye. They wont though. They'll do as they're told and cash their check and not think twice about it.

Fucking frauds.

I reespect you and your opinions Slarty, and because I have this respect for you I feel comfortable telling you that I think you're full of crap.

They have grabbed the money, but i believe people who call performing artists/ entertainers "sell out", are either jealous or just aren't thinking it through. I'm not slamming you Slarty, but they're entertainers, their job is to perform for money, it's a for profit business.
Regardless of how noble the topic, they all sell their product, whether it's music, manuscripts, painting, sculptures or whatever. it's always a means to an end.

besides, they are all rich enough that clearly, none of them have to work, they obviously do it because they love it, they still want to make music after all these years. So what if they're getting paid for it.

I rarely work for free, unless I'm assigned a pro bono case, as we all are from time to time by the court, or the client is a longtime friend or a very compelling case, I don't work for free, who does..? not the rolling stones, thats for sure..

c'mon bro~ the government said that they could only perform if they agreed to not play a few songs, a surprisingly shorter black list than everyone expected, thats for sure.

so their choices were to not play china, something they've always wanted to do, or play China and excluse a few songs.... that's not a difficult decision at all in my opinion.

It's not like they had enough time to play even 1/10th of their catalog anyway, right..

Like I said bro, i hope you don't think I'm chitting on you or anything, I merely disagree, and I'm telling you why.

I equate this to some big band playing Sun City, South Africa during the apartheid era.

Hell, everybody needs to get paid, I totally understand that. We all make compromises for money at one level or another, that's life. But when we make major compromises for money we don't need it's something else. Also, the Stones mean more to me than most of the dinky bands out there.( I paid $500 for a front row center seat for Kieth's 50th birthday.) It's sad.

The only thing I have that's full of crap is between my ears.
