my vacation garden...?

i am setting up a small scale hydro farm [6 plants in flower max]... because i am growing only 6 plants in flower i am not putting them into flower until they are at the 4 foot level more or less. the idea is to always be putting one plant into flower on one end and have another plant coming out to harvest on the other end about every 7 days [aprox]... i have the strains and system in place to do this on a 45 to 50 day cycle and expect predictable and steady returns...

the thing about this system is that it takes 3 to 4 months of start up time to get the ball rolling from clones to the 4 foot tall bush ready to go into the flowering room

for people growing with the sea of green, its is easy to close up shop and take the winter off... start up time for them is a month at most... but for me to take 3 months off would mean a production cycle of 5 to 6 months max if i started from clones or even if a buddy gave me 6-1 footers when i came back to begin again...

so i am looking for ways to keep a garden going while i am gone so that upon my return i would have 6 usable plants in the 3 to 4 foot range to jump start the season again...

what i am thinking is to get 6-30 gallon pots and soil grow 6 sisters under 2 to 3 1000w lights with an auto water system [controled with a moisture sensor]... i am thinking that if they were 2 foot tall when i left they would be in the 4 foot range in 2 to 3 months and that by leaving them in a circle with the lights between them instead of over them i would not have as much to worry about them growing into the lamps over time and burning... i also am thinking that they would be fine in the large pots as there would be plenty of buffered nutes for them to consume while left unattended for months at a time...

i know that this is not a flawless plan and that the simplest things have a way of going south on you if left unattended for periods of time but it is an idea i am kicking around and i am asking you all for your input...

IF this were to work then upon my return i would wash the root mass clean of soil and re pot them into 5 gallon growrox and put them into a hydro ebb and flow system for production...

as far as the medium transfer, i just did this to my current crop on a smaller scale taking doner plants given to me by a friend who grows in soil and after washing, bedding them into 2 gallon pots filled with growrox and starting them in an ebb and flow system... they showed signs of vigor at about2 weeks and by 3 weeks were blasting out of control with no loss of any plants

so... let me have it folks... i am wide open for critiques and suggestions... tell me what you all think... is this mad genius or simply madness...
