the energy of the plant moves upward into the foliage into the morning, and down into the roots at night

"In the uptake of nutrients from the soil food web, sulphur is the catalyst for carbon chemistry, boron gives us sap pressure and silicon builds the capillary action that transports plant sap. Only then can calcium, magnesium and amino acids be delivered to cell division sites for chlorophyll manufacture. As chlorophyll catches light, phosphorous transfers energy into sugar production—after which a mix of sugars and more complex products follow potassium through the silica pathways to provide energy or its storage wherever required in the plant."

well if you were harvesting the plant for the root, apparently in chinese pharmacopeia there is some use for it, it would be best to harvest near sundown

I suspect you are harvesting for the tops though

It's all personal preference. Now as far as planting seeds I do that at night on a full moon and I wear a black ninja suit.

I like to harvest in the am or before lights go on......(thc degrades in sunlight)

Also I like to put the plants in complete darkness for 48-72 hours.......then harvest those juicy colas......

Harvest above ground crops after the full moon for longer storage???is that correct or did I get it backwards......Ill check and get back to you...

With the lights off after a full day of dark, with the calyx's full/swollen, the majority of hairs withered and dark, and the crystal under a magnifier about 70% milky, 20% clear, and 10% amber.

this darkness shit has been often proven wrong, dont torture your plants

trichomes have like the whole plant also a 24h rythem , best is mornings (lights on) , the night cycle is used to re-metabolize cannbinoids, which are decreased during light impact

I've done it every which way (including the ninja suit) and also with tiny lawn-mowers taped to my head, but no combination of morning, noon, night, 2 days darkness, etc, etc made any noticable difference to me. Maybe I'm just not a "real" connoiseur, but that's my story and I'm stickin' in it.

I think the benefits of 2-7days in dark at the end of the cycle..... its strain dependent............

I remember hearing that some white widow plants really give up the resin when given 7days of darkness.............could be a rumor............I like the theory that when your plant is in the light the thc degrades and at night it replaces itself.....so with no light to degrade plants can yeild more resin............could be negligable amounts though...............

Where the hell did I put the gas chomography machine??????/

I like to harvest when I am awake, but after fulfilling that requirement I will harvest when I see some amber and cloudy with minimal clear trichs. I tried putting the harvestees into the dark for 48 hrs and 72 hours and couldn't discern any significant improvements over cutting the plant off at the knees and let the mycorzzia feast on the root system in the container and hang the bud laden plant in the closet for initial drying phase. I have some aloha white widowX sensi star vegging currently so I'll keep that tidbit in mind when their harvest time nears.

I have found that the best time to harvest is when the plant is done.
Sure you can try and split atoms....but the plant doesn't understand that and just does it's thing normally and the harvest progresses as it should.

Superstition doesn't grow buds.

After reading pretty much the same answers on the Old CW I split the difference
I went with 24 hrs darkness and chop after my morning coffee with doobie
I feel pumped and ready to go like a child at Christmas morning
I chop at base and hang the ladies upside down

Unless you have a gas chromatograph built into your lungs you won't know any difference!

The correct time is as follows:
When the plants are ready
When you are ready
When it's safe!

Day or night makes no difference, follow the above guidelines.

Ed
