hey cured, thanks for the recommendation bro-

since I'm not at all a technical wizard, actually I'm more of a technical novice, can you explain the difference between Avant browser and firefox..?

I like it because it works effortlessly with my proxy switcher.
It doesn't have the big cute "playschool" buttons of firefox. It has uber friendly menues with loads of skins, record clearing options, translation, which came in handy
once while stuck on a chinese proxy... Also a pop up blocker that if turned on has caused no problems with my firewall, peer guardian, or the afore mentioned proxy switcher.

I've really enjoyed running it but this is sounding like spam. I just wanted to give a option folks might not have seen.

it looks good but I keep opening firefox, force of habit or maybe I just think it's too good to be true

Yeah, it's a sweet little tool.
Good to see I'm not the only one that likes it. I always go for off beat.
Firefox never impressed me. IE well...Don't know what ever happened to
Netscape, but I sent them 10 dollars one time and they sent me a disk & the Netscape Browser "Bible" a huge ass manual. Not my idea of fun.

It appears that it relies on IE to operate.
I'll stick with Opera.

I think so Roscoe, which may be why it works so well with the proxy and deep cleaning programs I use. Opera is nice too. I use Opera mini on my other devices.

I use Opera on my bootable OS disks, :D, cause it's the only browser I can get to work with them.

Gotta love PE builder for anonymity!

I find Avant much easier to use and therefore use it for everyday browsing. I never liked the look or feel of Fire Fox for some reason....
