Hi Folks,

In light of resents events, I came to the conclusion that it was once again time to go toe-to-toe with Health Canada. I applied for a Sec 56 in '01 due to Chronic Pain. I was denied because I refused to go to a Pain Management Clinic, which was deemed a waste of time by both of my Dr's at the time. Both my Dr's signed letters recommending MJ use, but HC in their ultimate wisdom said NO.

Well the B2 app forms have changed and are much simplier now to fill out. Visioncreator gave me a great deal of help on filling out the security aspect of the forms, as to what HC is looking for. This time I was armed with a a THIRD updated medical report straight from the Head of Neurosurgery from McMaster University Hospital confirming my disability and agreeing MJ is what I need to use on a daily basis for Chronic Pain relief. I have been off all pain medications (opiates) for just over a year now, and MJ is my sole med. All three Dr's (GP and 2 Neurosugeons), all agree that because of nerve damage my condition is only going to worsen with age, and that MJ is the best course of treatment for me.

I can't see HC turning a blind eye to all the info that will be in front of them this time....but ya never know with this fucked up system?? HC now has my file in thier possesion, so the waiting game is on.

6 weeks today and still no excemption. I have been in touch with HC and do have a contact person who is in charge of my file. I asked for her medical credentials, and get this...she's a registered nurse. A registered nurse is who makes the final call on these app's. Is no surprise, is the same thing with CPP Disability..it's a registered nurse who makes the call. Anyways...she was suppost to call me last Thursday with an update....we'll see if I hear from her tomorrow? With LESS than 1000 legal excemptee's in Canada...HC must be real busy trying to keep up....LOL.

Don't ya just hate dealing with any part of the Gov....on ANY aspect??????? :rolleyes:

Hi Folks,

Well...there was a delay with my app. It seems I suppplied too much info to HC....haha! :D I named one Specialist on the B2-5 form, and added the most resent report from a second Specialist for good measure. Well, because the second Specialist wasn't specificlly named on the B2-5 form with the first Specialist, then HC couldn't consider his report. :rolleyes:

So, what HC needed, was another B2-5 form signd by my Dr. with the second Specialists name and info on it. Luckly, HC was very nice about it, and said they only needed that specifc (B2-5) form of the app and allowed my Dr. to fax it directly to them on Wed with the updated Specialist info. I called HC on Thurs to confirm they got the fax, and was told they did recieve it. My contact person said that now that they had all the correct info, they could use his report, and could go ahead with the app process. Something weird though?? She ended that conversation by saying.....NOW, everything looks fine...whatever than means??? She was suppost to call me today with an update, but I never got the call. They seem to be running about a day behind in returning calls, so honestly, I didn't expect to get the call from a Gov workero on a friday...lol. :)

They have no more excuses now, so let's see what next week brings? ;)

Hopefully this will change in November. Then Congress can authorize real, unbiased studies that will prove what we already know about the usefulness of MJ.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the kinds words my friends! I've suffered with severe pain for many years, and really should have pushed for this excemption right after I was turned down by HC in '01. I'm still sorta shocked that it all went thru so smoothly this time. :) It was just under 9 weeks for the full process, with the minor delay involved. It still won't really sink in until I have that card in my hand though.
I'm sure this next 7-10 days is gonna feel like a month....lol. :whistling:
At any rate since I got the verbal OK of approval yesterday, I went to a buddy's place last night and took Cheese clones and sowed some fresh new Hybrid seed. Also, thought it was time to ressurrect some old fav's...Orange/Black Spice, Star Gazer, Da Bomb...ect. :kind:

Yep...Da Bomb is the GBW (F3 G pheno) x C99 male. I've grown it out once before, and it blew me away. But, with so many other projects on the go over the last few years it was hard to get back to it. Now...it's a fresh start with Da Bomb, and I'll be lookin' for keepers! :kind:

For the first time in a VERY long time, my life is stress free...and least where MMJ is concerned. We had to do some MAJOR upgrades to the house, but now that the new roof/septic system/well are FINALLY all completed, that's a HUGE burdon off our shoulders as well. Now...we just have to pay for it all. Can you save house-broke...LOL? :eek:

Today was awesome! Before my MVA I was a professional landscaper, so this weekend I rented a tracked skid-steer, and flogged 56 yards of screened top-soil over the new septic-system. It was late fall last year when they got it finished, so I had no time to get it prepped for grass seed. It felt so good to be back on the land doing what I loved the most. I'm payin' for it large tonight though...all that bouncing around plays real havic with my nerve damage. I'm a sucker for punishment though...I've got another tri-axle load (28 yards) that will be here @ 7am tomorrow.

Hi dman. I an just new to the form and I am in the process of just filling out my paper work to file with the government. My doctor and a specialist I have been seeing for four years have been trying to get me to apply. I am tired of the cocktail of meds they have me on and what it is doing to me. I was just wondering what the tips where that you got in regards to the security you are going to us. You can post on here or private message me if you like. I just want to eliminate any problems before they occur.
