I was on another board and a discussion came up recently about what plant steriods can do, and how to apply them.
Basically brassinolide was the subject in question, and stem injection was the application.
My question is, would this really work, and at what dose?

I was always under the impression that tricontanol fulfilled this niche as found in kelps and alfalfa.

Haha, I just realized your subtitle is stunt cock... you must have seen the movie, lol...
Anyways, I don't think so, it does help with growth, but this stuff is supposedly far superior in growth rate. Do you have any links on research that tricontanol raises brassinolides ratio in plants?

STUNTTTT COCK! Hahaha that movie is a trip.
never heard of injecting something into the stem, but wiki has an interesting article about it on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brassinosteroid
seems to have quite an effect, but the question is, is it a good one? timing might be important

Ok, this is a bit much, u want to juice the plant....Why? I am not knocking you or anything, but I am not so much interested in what those steroids would do to the plant, but you as the smoker. I have heard of people even using 1 birth controll tablet per gallon of water, as a hormone, but never tried and doubt it works. I will continue to try to perfect my other conditions, heat, light, spacing, feeding program, etc. before i ever consider anything like this..just my 2 cents. Have a great morning all.

Edit: Nitrozyme, is that the same as hygrozyme, if so i love the stuff, too expensive though.

No I think hygrozyme and Nitrozyme (aka Growth Plus) are two seperate products..........
Cray? Is that correct?
Growth Plus was the original containing Nitrozyme, and a product called Nitrozyme itself, now there is Hygrozyme, a different albeit similar product.
I have only used Growth Plus, it works....
You can see accelerated growth/developement in the week following application.

Thanks for the clarification Tug, I can vouch for the effectiveness of hygrozyme, but it is too bloody expensive when treating a large res, it only comes in 1 litre, 36 dollars. Tug, at what rate do you mix your growth plus, if it is more cost effective I will soon make the switch.

I used growth plus as a foliar spray and was quite happy with the results.
I believe it is 5 or 10 ml per litre or gallon as a foliar spray, great results.
