Hi people. Even though my girls turned to hermies, I've got nothing to lose so have allowed them to carry on. They've been in 12/12 now for 2 months and the pics below show what they look like. From the start, I teased them out so that they could get as much light as possible. I punched holes in the rim of the pots and fed meat skewers through the holes then tied the various branches down to the skewers. Seems to have worked pretty good.

Anyway, a couple of questions I have are:

(1) Are the flowers about the right size for a small indoor grow? I have no idea what strains the plants are, unfortunately.

(2) Any rough guesses as to how long before harvest?

(3) Should I remain with 12/12 or can I go to 18 on, 6 off?

I'd be grateful for any advice. Thanks in advance.

Well it's a first try........I wouldn't lose too much sleep over this grow harvest those whenever you want you'll have a bit of personal.........are you going to grow again?......you need more light and some plant food.........you now have your first grow under your belt and you will realize if you do it again how much you actually learned.......try again you will be growing fat colas in the new year :D

Oh yeah, gonna grow again for sure. I've been using Formula Flora from I got from Amsterdam, so that just leaves the light. Will I achieve anything going to 18 on, 6 off now? Will the flowers get much bigger?

no the flowers won't get any bigger no point in putting any more energy into those plants just hang em up ......... focus on your next grow....... get some good lights and a good fan, get some clones, do lots of reading and figure out how you want to grow .....don't be shy to ask more questions .......

I've flushed them and all set to chop them tomorrow. Although there's not much there, I sampled a bit and it's surprisingly pleasant.

Anyway, got a hydro unit for the next attempt and some feminized White Widow seeds. I also discovered that my grow box wasn't as light proof as I thought, doh!

I'll get the hydro unit going then top that plant and put just the one back in my (now fixed) grow box.

Thanks for the help guys

are you going to keep growing the hermies?

That's the hermies and I'm chopping them tonight or tomorrow. One turned hermie while I was away on holiday and my helper put it outside waiting for me to get back to make a decision on it. I got home a week later, saw it outside and thought my friend had put it out for some sun and forgot to put it back, so I put it straight back inside with the other 3 girls. I saw my helper the next day and said I'd found the plant outside and put it back!! You can imagine how the conversation went after that. By the time I raced home, they were all hermie. Bugger...

Lots to know in this hobby!

Funny though, when I first posted (above) about the flowers getting any bigger, the answer was no and to chop them. I decided to go through with flushing them anyway and in the week I've been doing that, the flowers have packed out more. Either way, they're coming down tonight and hung to dry.

yea they usually go through a burst or two with water in the end, as far as yield though i dont thinkn you are looking at that much in the scope of things, keep on!

you might want to save yourself the trouble and just get some clones......at least that way you will know they are all female.........once you grow some bigger flowers you will look back at this and see why we say no worry about the yield of these plants....yea they may have put on some weight but.......your not going to see any large flowers until you put some young cuts under a proper light with ventilation and witness what they are capable of.....

Just thought I'd put an end to this thread.

I cut the plants down and hung them to dry. They were pretty pathetic looking too, once they'd dried out, lol. Anyway, I trimmed what was there and although there wasn't a huge amount, there's certainly a good few weekends in it for me - IF, it was any good.

Surprise suprise, it wasn't too bad. I am by no way a connoisseur and didn't even realize there were so many variations of the plant until I joined the forum, but my first grow is a pleasant smoke.

My first roll, I put it about what I'd put in if I'd bought it. Nothing happened for quite some time but really slowly crept up on me. A really pleasant head high for a good while, then a good body stone.

So, not a total waste of time. I know 1000% more than I did a few months ago and I've a nice little stash too.

Next plan is: I have some feminized white widow and a purpose built box for a little hydro unit. If they "hatch", I'll take clones from them and put them in my modified original light box.

I know some of you guys may think it's hardly worth the effort, but I just could not get away with a larger setup, so this'll have to do. My plan was to master (well, get a good grip on) SOG. A couple of smaller plants every few months would be more than enough for my needs.

More reading to do yet though as I didn't remove any branches at all as they were growing so even though I was able to spread the plant out, there was so much smaller shit happening that I couldn't really "control" the plant.

Anyway, thanks for your input and encouragement and I'll post more once I get going on round 2...

It reminds me of my first try........someone gave me some big bud seeds.......put them in a closet with as many flouros as I could scavenge......similar results......
