has anyone tried using inductipon lights? they claim that a 420 watt induction light can replace 750 - 1000 watts of hid lighting.
they also sell plasma lighting. i was thinking that these are a better option than led lights for energy savings.

HOW IT WORKS!

The Inda-Gro Light is an Electromagnetic Fluorescent Discharge Light (EFDL). A good EFDL lamp is like a fluorescent lamp on steroids, with no electrodes to wear out quickly, based on Nicola Tesla's well-known principles, light can be generated via a gas discharge through electromagnetic induction.

This EFDL Lamp is a light source that combines the principle of electric-magnetic induction and gas discharging. Since there's no electrode and filament inside the lamp it is also known as the "Electrode-less" lamp.

The life time of Electromagnetic Induction Lamp can be up to 100,000 hours, which is 100 times of incandescent lamp, 5-15 times of HID (High Intensity Discharge) lamp and 5-10 times of CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lamp).

Electromagnetic transformers, which consists of rings with metal coils, create an electromagnetic field around a glass tube which contains a gas, using a high or low frequency that is generated by an electronic ballast. The discharge path, induced by the coils, forms a closed loop causing acceleration or avalanche of free electrons, which collide with a solid amalgam of mercury atoms which excite the electrons. As the excited electrons from these atoms fall back from this higher energy state to a lower stable level, a plasma state, as they emit ultraviolet radiation. The UV radiation is converted to visible light as it passes through a 12 phosphor coating on the surface of the tube, which in this instance produces a strong full spectrum response. All but 2-3% of the UV is converted, the small remaining UV is beneficial to plant growth. The unusual shape of an induction lamp maximizes the efficiency of the fields that are generated

420 Watts - Covers up to a 5’x5’ Area.
3.5 amp @ 110VAC or 5 lights on one 20amp circuit.

Clone - Flowering with Wide Spectrum and High Intensity.

95% Par Usable UV and IR Spectrums with an Added 5% 630nm in a 13 Phosphor Blend.

98% Total Reflectivity - Means More Light To Your Canopy.

Universal Driver 120-277v 50/60hz.

92,833 VEL.

Maintains 90% Lumen Output at 70,000 Hours.

100,000 Rated Life (Hours).

they are really good lights, i just dont like how mine is in a huge exterior case which could run outside in the rain. it makes it really heavy. new ag ones are coming which will have remote balast and lightweight reflector.

I find them incredible for veg and my friend has bloomed with them alone and gotten around 12z from a 400w, for blooming the plants must be kept small as the light doesnt penetrate like HIDs. They provide a nice even light with no "hot spots"

right now my pal is using these mixed with hps for flowering.

thanks i reallly need to lower my energy cost do they perform as advertised like being able to replace about 750 hid?

thanks, i got the 420watt version. i got the lights real close maybe an inch from the top i'm covering 8sq/ft, if i get 12z i'll be ok thats what i was getting with the 2 400 hids. i'm growing a cross of deepchunk x white rhino yields about 42-45 gms per plant.

if i get rock hard buds i'll continue to use it otherwise it'll make a fine scrog light, sog or veg light.

the company inda-gro says the 420w puts out 500umol/sm @24"

they are expensive though at $ 795 plus shipping putting total cost close to $850

i'd post pics ,but don't yet know how, working on that.

but i harvested the plants i had under this indiction light , got about 52 gms per plant , best ever for this deep chunk x white rhino clone.
