Hey folks, this thread was lost during the update so I'm going to resurrect it here.
ok, basics...
2 x 150w hps for my light source
tw x nep SPG x nep (c99xGWS)x Vision Thai
coco coir feeding PBP nutes.

I have culled 2 males thus far and i have confirmed 4 females. I will be using the pistilwipt pruning method on these plants to help compensate for the lack of penetration of the 150 watters.
I'll keep this updated as things happen.

howdy folks, that time again. today is the first day of flowering week 4. all plants are now confirmed female and all males were culled before any balls developed into flowers. Although I started 2 starburst seeds about a week ago so i guess those are not confirmed female.
I really love this coco. I over water like a noob no matter how hard I try not to with soil, but this coco is phenomenally good at making up for my thick headedness.
I took some clones from the SPGxNEP and the TWxNEP a few weeks ago and those just popped roots and got planted in some beer cups yesterday morning.

Planties are chugging along, I'm having a problem with some of the plants turning yellow however. I will be surfing the net for info today.

Are you using 2 150s in the same room or is it 1 150 for your veg and 1 150 for your flowering room?

I have not been using cal mag but i could give it a shot. how much cal/mag /gal do you tend to use?
I water daily, each pot with a large plant in it gets 2-300ml a day and the little ones/clones get about half that.
I am storing water in a 5 gallon bucket and sucking it out with a little pump and hand watering with a little tube. I have been noticing sediment at the bottom of my rez however. Do pbp nutes precipitate out of solution after time or is that some Science project going BOINK?
My pH is at 6.0 which seems a bit low to me.
Bigcanuk: I have 2 150 watters in this box. there is no veg room, but there is a night stand with some fluro's and some clones.

Sicarii I think your have some nice looking plants. What is the distance of the light to your plants. Did you find that out of a reflector your light works better. Also were is the second light positioned in the box.
I like to ask questions.

the lights are both in the center. ill post a picture when the lights turn back on. the bases are screwed into a little wood block facing away from each other sort of like this

Now that you explained how it is hung I understand. Interesting idea. How is the heat levels in your space venting ect. Also is the type of planet your using auto flowering?
Sicarii

the plants are all within 1.5 -2 ft of the light i have a valley in the middle of the canopy so the light hangs a little low ( level with the tallest plant). the closest piece of foliage gets...5 inches or so from the lights. the temps stay around 80-85 but winter is coming soon and i know it will be around 75-80 when its cold out.
the venting comes from 2 8 inch desk fans that i turned into intake and exhaust fans. the exhaust goes into a 10 inch carbon filter that i built.
my planties are not auto flowering. i have (c99xgreat white shark)xVision thai, sweet pink greapfruit x nepalese, timewarp x nepalese and starburst growing right now.

The reason for all the questions Sicarri is that my baby room is run with a 150 watt HPS and a 25 watt Flora. I was not to sure about what to do get a 400 HPS and lose the 150 or get another 150 or a 250.

all things equal, when you have you are happy with your answers and where your at, you plants if not being feed on the high end with naturally yellow off, but some things can be speed up by over watering under feeding etc etc.,.,you could use a shot or 2 of cal/mag 5ml a gal or epsom salts at 1 tblsp a gal. your ph seems fine i run at 5.8-6.0.me i like to let the tops of my coco dry before i water, i think coco can be over watered, i water every 2 day in a 2 gal pot, about 500ml per plant, some may drink a bit faster some not so much.,.,peace
Looks to me like you're having some probs, Sicarii. You should listen to vapor, he knows his shit. Your plants look under-nourished to me as well, but I'd attribute that to unhealthy roots (from any of many possible causes). I've never grown in coco though, so I don't know anything about it.

i agree with vapor as well, and i appreciate advice from those more experienced. i will add the epsom when i make up another 5 gallons in the morning. what rate do you use the pbp nutes? and does the rez need to be agitated before watering or is the sediment at the bottom normal? i have never mixed more water at once than i need before this grow so im not sure if i am storing the water properly.
peace and thanks for all the pointers

So i cut down the plants, harvest through smoke and didnt take any pictures... they went down hill a bit and the final product wasn't very potent. Obviously that reflects entirely on me and not on the genetics of the seeds provided to me. The clones that i mentioned back at the end of September however, are doing much better. I realized a little too late that a 5 gallon bucket of nutrient solution needs to be mixed before using because the nutes will separate out over night.

SPGxNEP24247 24248
I learned alot from my first grow and I think I should have this box tuned in by the end of my next grow.
thats all for now peace

I didn't mean to make it out to be all bad, I got about a half ounce all said and done. I know however that it was not what it could have been. It was my best harvest ever and I learned a great deal. I think my 8 tiny clones will yield more than those plants, and better quality to.

so do your pots ever dry out, whats your idea of dry?
Sicarii
11-12-2010, 09:40 AM
yes it is magnetic.
i water the plants every three days and on the third day the beer cup pots weigh almost nothing and the coco is starting to pull in from the sides of the cup. the first time around i watered daily and i dont think they ever dried out.

update time, i accidentally burned the shit out of 2 plants because i got my depth perception skewed :o. the remaining plants are looking great but they don't seem to be finishing as fast as i would have expected. each time i look at them they seem to be swelling more than ripening, so i cant complain too loudly about the wait.:allgood2:

so what you think the sediment is ???

12-05-2010, 11:58 AM
i assumed it was nutrients falling out of solution. what could the pump have to do with it?
