New Room Setup

In the flower room I'm trying to decide how to air cool the hoods. In the past I've always pulled the air through the hoods with no negative affects on the Vortex fans. Now I'm told it's better on the fan to push the air through due to bearing heat, etc.

I already had it set up to pull the air through the hoods, then through the filter and out the exhaust. The room has a passive air return for makeup.

My thoughts have been along the line that if there was leak in the system it wouldn't matter that much if you were pulling the air through hoods.

Since I have not had problems in the past pulling with Vortex fans I'm still leaning that way. Not sure if there is a negative affect on the filter running hot air through it, but I don't see how.

Any and all input is appreciated.

I'll throw in some pics of the build and update the thread as I go. First pics are the veg room with 18 pre '98 Bubba Kush clones running in Ebb&Flow buckets.

Next ones are the flower room with 2 of the 4 Magnum XXXLs installed and the layoput for the 3.5gal bucket system I'm building. There will be a total of 36 in the flower room staggered 4 weeks.

I have always pulled air through as well and never had a problem. My vortex fan has been running 12/12 for over 5 years without a day off. I think your fine. Those fans aren't cheap they can take the wear and tear.
