i have a (gf x nl) x ortega that i think is going to be an OUTfuckinstanding plant, but she flips into bloom at the slightest provocation.. of course i need her in full vege right now.
i'm currently using Lucas + 5ml of flg per gallon.
thank you!

thanks pb.. looks perfect! recommendation on dosage?
Hi CM!
If you have the "Grow" bottle (not many Lucas users do) you could use this, contains more ammonia than the micro, otherwise i'd up the Micro.

^ that will do the trick.
both of those products can be rather difficult to find.
mace and gg right in pointing at NH4 sources in regards to keeping plants in veg, revegging etc.
cm, i use it at about 10% of my salt mix
i don't have a rate per volume per se
i use 20 mls into 240 mls of AB nutrients and target at about 1.2 ec
i also use a capful 5-10 mls into 1L foliar and get no tds reading.
gg, since you are such a treg fan like me have you ever met parker or neil?
peace.

Urea,cheap and cheerfull 46-0-0
5 grams /gal gives you 100ppm of N.
It's good for foliar at 200ppm.

lol how did i know that was coming...

my fave source of N is of course calcium nitrate.

I just wish that Urea showed up on a TDS meter.....but it doesn't! Had to go ask Lucas to figure out the ppm/dosage thing.
Alternatively ,pee in a 5 gal bucket and dilute 10:1 with water,Them plants are sure kinky for the golden showers.....and your adding some of "You" to the plant.

C-did you supply the urea samples or did L go the extra mile?
GG-do ya'll have co-ops around there? Like the county 1's in the backwoods?
You can get all kinds of stuff...
Can you further discuss the 'bio field' remark?

5KG box for 4.99 in most nurseries.I fried 20 plants before I figured out the the Urea doesn't show on the TDS.After Lucas gave me the formula I figured out that I had given them about 2000ppm of N in a single hit.Ouch!

you can also get urea at the pharmacy

Doesn't Urea have to be broken down first by a "bio field"?
take can take about an hour on the tower of power, as long as i get a little golden shower...

I use Calcium Nitrate, it's $15 per 50lbs greenhouse grade. It reads on a TDS meter. I thought Urea was a "bad" N source?

i will wager urea does the 'trick' best of all these suggestions...
this is not a thread about effective N sourcing rather its about keeping ortega in veg.

shall we go on... ?

I don't see what it hurts as long as we are learning something and C Muncher's original question gets answered.
pb,
If you don't mind me asking, what do you mean about the "urea does the trick best" versus your earlier preference for calcium nitrate? I'm not being a smartass, just wondering if there's something I can learn from in what you said.
I just had thought I'd heard somewhere that urea was a "bad" N source, but I don't remember the reason, just have always avoided it since. Can someone explain?
Thanks,
GM

just going to sit on the sidelines a bit longer and watch.. really don't have anything to contribute at this point.. except i had asparagus last night, so urea is out of the question. :teeth:
and yes, please let this thread wander wherever it will.. it's in very capable hands and all the info is great.

Never taken a pharma pill in the last 20 yrs,Fred....And we eat local organic veg and meat so no nasties in there either. The beer metabolites may be another thing........but the plants seem to love it!Hops and Cannabis being cousins.
Urea as a foliar feed,if you get the 46-0-0,is as fast an uptake as you can get.It has held off flowering ,in my auto flowering strains, with a couple of foliar applications.200PPM seems as much as they can handle @ application rate of 2-3 times a week with a straight water spray inbetween.

That's good to know. I've tossed strains which wouldn't stay veggin' for me. It's a shame I didn't know to spray some nitrogen on them.
I'd assume that would be a safe thing just to give them a growth kick too, like right now for plants which need to get into high-gear to get vegged good before planting outside? I'm a little behind schedule with my outdoor clones. Actually I'm also behind schedule for the indoor ones too, haven't even cut them yet! This is such a demanding hobby.........lol
