This is an open question to all to think about and comment on.

Of the Canadain seed source

we know what happen to HS and cbay
peak is gone
cannabis professionals is gone
several other canadain sites of lesser note are also down

the two dominant medical sites in Canada have either shut off seed sales/giveways or limited them to members only.

yet
I noticed Hemp Depot is back up after a short haitus and with a new warning not to germ your seeds unless your a canadain medical exemptee
Dr. Greenthumb is up
Kindseeds is up
KlozetKing is up
Legends is down for update.

and probably the second biggest canadain presence prior to the end; reeferman moved to a-damn knowingly just months before the whole HS thing....

So this leaves one to wonder what does the future hold for the average joe looking for some seeds in North America

Now of course we still have all the UK banks - right?

probably a lot more folks will learn how to selectively pollinate plants.

Lots of inuendo to about envelopes ect being 'radiated' by the Postal folks too...

...don't hold your breath on the legends update either...

...we are definately experiencing some rocky times...but...this could be a good thing...

...i know from being apart of multiple seed companies in bc that over the last few years we became lax...maybe we had convinced ourselves that we had won...alas...we have been given a startling reminder that we have not won...yet...

...the current pogram will, hopefully, strengthen our resolve...and force us to be more innovative...the enemies of this plant have been attempting to eradicate it for many years...and have failed...

...i believe that this current re-shuffling (if you will) is just our reaction to "the man" and his political posturing...we aren't going away, just ducking and weaving a bit...

good takes on the current state of affairs from all...

but what I'm wondering, not so much for myself but for newbies who find their way to this site, is;

Where is a good place to order from now?

I agree that there has been some good thoughts on the subject thus far, and the thread topic is one that I'm surprised hasn't appeared before now actually.

unfortunately however, I don't think it would be appropriate for the staff of this site to publicly endorse nor speak against any particular seed banks.

If any of the staff of this site were to publicly endorse any specific seed banks, I believe that in and of itself could be interpreted as advertising or otherwise supporting a particular business.

I personally have no problem with the members of CW posting their particular favorites on the boards, no problem with that at all.

I just believe that it will be easier for this site to maintain it's integrity within the community, if the staff remains neutral when issues of specific seed businesses come up for discussion.

Hi folks,

Reeferman's move to A'dam was primarily inspired by Marc Emery's misfortune. We're sending seeds to the states through a UK remailer, so the mail doesn't say AMSTERDAM on the front.

We're only accepting cash orders and our prices have gone up, but we're still around.

Hi Folks,

IMO...you can't go wrong with Dr. Greenthumb's gear. He's kinda pricey, but IME quality has always been topnotch (ie: Endless Sky....YUMMY)! :kind: He says that he's still sending to the US as well, which I personally think is kinda pushing the "envelope" so to speak at the stage of the game.

cool :) thanks all for posting !

batman - yes I understand that site reps here can't endorse a seed seller

bigsur - hmm... and bog just stopped production, forever, and it's unclear from what I hear who will be breeding for woodhorse - I imagine before long meduser won't have too much to sell seed wise anyways :(

ship - thanks for stopping by. reef's always been a favorite of mine - glad to hear that seeds are shipping even if it's a round about way.

dman - good info on the Dr. Greenthumb

i don't know if this is coiture , but www.drchronics-seeds.co.uk has a very large variety of seed
also The nottingham Seedbank also has a large stock

please do not purchase seeds from bullnet seeds emporium as they are overpriced budgie food

7-10 days delivery @ Doc Chronic
read the latest issue of www.soft-secrets.nl ( download) for a complete run down on seed co's, Ireland included !

Besides Dr Greenthumb's Endless Sky (indica) he also has a sativa, Golden Haze, which I have been very happy with. It's a cross between Acapulco Gold x Haze.
Btw, his bulletin board has been down for a month or so, but his site is still up.

I'm bumping this thread because it's a topic that I'm still confused about. There is one particular Canadian retailer that I've had good success with in the past and would like to continue to support. They went down for a time, then came back up with added disclaimers (mentioned above). But. I don't understand exactly what methods RCMP used to bring down RC. I read that the codename of the operation was the French word for email, (couriel?). Why? Does anyone know if or how email was involved? Is it just stupid to order from Canada period? It was interesting to learn that the US agreed to a sweet softwood lumber deal with Canada following ME and RC.

By the way, props to Knucklehead for sniffing out Los Chanchos a month or more before the bust of C-bay and HS. He took alot of crap on the old site for being paranoid but sadly, was correct.

greenthumbs seedbank update is still going. It was updated in June, but still has a link to CW, so go figure. But there's still a few that will ship it seems.
Just don't have anything sent to the grow addy, don't use a credit card/debit and don't use your real name for the return address.
Other than that, cross your fingers and hope it makes it.;)
I was just taking a peak at some endless sky, now that is some pricey stuff, and to have that intercepted would make me a little down in the dumps. But I still have some of Dman's crosses with it, so I'll stick with those for now. But with all of these seedbanks as targets, I do want to get some seeds before Canada and the USA unite economically as one, and join in hands in the political arena.

UK420.con ( C-W was popped only once as opposed to Joolz's site twice , in the UK !!!)
i believe he was stocking RM last time , but i will say that every seed co has moved on to different locations ( baudelaire, etc), rather than stay there
i donated almost 300 bubble gum and C99 seeds to the medibank , and later heard they were being sold !!!!

An empire doesn't always have to use military might to impose it's will. Economic 'carrot and stick' can accomplish similar objectives. Is Tony Blair going to stand up to the empire. Oh yeah, stupid question. Where is it safe? Spain?

We can definitely add http://www.canadianhempco.com to the list of bogus/scammer seedbanks. I ordered a $20 pack of some weird hallucinogenic flower (as a test order) 4 weeks ago and not only did it not arrive but canadian hemp co. charged my credit card $37

Luckily my bank somehow got the charged removed today so I've lost nothing but gained the knowledge that these guys are total bullshit!!! These are the clowns that list DJs F13 (153 packs), OTM (221 packs) and BM (144 packs) in stock.

Anyone ever used Great Canadian Seeds??? It seems they're connected with Legends (who I can't order from because I can't get an international money order where I am). They're listing what I want but don't answer emails...:help:

I have never ordered from them so I can not coment on their order and delivery system. The prices look a tad high, but then again getting good beans is getting tougher by the day.
