Does anyone know of any resources for grow room plans? Maybe some photos of your indoor grow setup? I heard Rosenthal has a book that tours some popular grow room setups...
Thanks,

what do you need to know?

I guess just like good grow room setups. I want to grow about 6-10 plants, I have a spare bedroom I could use. Just maybe like actual plans or blue print examples, whether it comes from a website or your personal experience. I just want ideas. Money isn't a problem, but I don't want something too complex.

what size is the space?

I was thinking a closet. The room it is in is vacant, but I don't want a huge operation, and in a closet is easier to conceal. Dimensions are 4X8, 8 foot ceiling approx.

Stevus, are those the dimensions of the room, or the closet?
Also, the biggest question is how much weed do you want to grow/smoke/share/ect.
I smoke about 1 ounce per week. So, I need at least 1/4lb per month. If I harvest every three months, which would be possible with a 1 room operation, I would need to harvest at least 12 oz per harvest, which would be easily doable with a 600 watt and a coupld or fluoro's for veggin cuts
Let me know how much you want to grow, and I will subscribe to this thread and try my best to help get you going.
Does the closet already have a shelf in it at the top, or clothes rods, or what?

great clarifying questions.
a couple of others..
what are you doing for odor control?
do you have a preferred method of growing?
in my mind, a 4x8x8 (reversing the doors, because they usually open in) gives you lots of options. i would start the equation with what Alaska asked; define your needs? i would add; what is your budget? and, what equipment do you have now?

4x8 table with 32 plants (1 psf) with like 10-15 days of veg and a 60 day bloomin strain + drying/curing time brings you in at if youre hitting 1# per 600 3 pounds every 90 days...
not too hard a task to accomplish..
you wouldnt need more than a 10" fan to cool that along with adequate passive intake.

Hi Stevus, the very first thing is, get your ventilation and odor control worked out. I hope you have an attic over this closet, because you will need to cut a hole in the ceiling to vent out to your attic. Get a proper sized vent fan and matching carbon filter. These will be pretty small since your space is small. You'll need to suspend the filter and fan from the celing also, or build a shelf. Suspending is better. Be sure to go into beams for that.
Hopefully you are also built with a space under your floorboards under the house. if so, ideal; you make a hole for passive intake, and get cool moist air from under there. If no space under the house, hopefully you can draw from the side of the house (outside air)... there is where things get a lot trickier as you would have to conceal that hole etc.
Others here will expound...

My Next Project will be Using The Shelf Growing Technique
using three aquaflo NFT trays, and although i may use the Whitefire Fluoros, i am more interested in this Tri Halide/HPS set up
instead of having the triple decker rack, instead each aquaflo will have its own 4 foot wide shelf
i've been wanting to do this for quite a while now , so i'll be starting the project next week

i must agree with Reverend Budbreath on dialing in your ventilation system
aiming for a air transfer of approximatly 25-30 times per hour
to determine this , measure your growroom
then using this formula you will be able to determine which CFM size fan you need; "Length times Width times height, times 25-30 = ??? CFM
of course using passive holes along with a intake fan works wonders
may i suggest going to a hardware store and buying a black plastic "Airbrick"
this will prevent any light from escaping , or entering
also , using old pair of stockings, cover intake holes , especially during the summer months, as you will be attracting insects in to feed off your plants
You can probably build one of these yourself , but heres a Intake particle Filter you attach to the Intake of your Intake fan
i have one of these already on my shopping list ( how conveniant i can get everything for 10% off this month !!)

i'll dig up some more growroom designs for you as soon as i find them

of course , whilst you wait , may i provide you with a slide show of Growroom Construction- Shipping Container style !
it has a handy pause and zoom for your convenience
i'm sure you'll pick up an idea or three www.grow-go.nl
Old style white venetian blinds ( horizontal) make for great walls, both for reflectability (adjustable), but also for ventilation purposes
you'll more than likely find some at a garage sale somewhere, for a couple o bucks !
i just threw in that tip , as i'm smoking some "Inspirational Herb", and am in good spirits, lol
