So Bubbleman brought this trimmer over to try out. He had heard good reports about it and wanted to see how well it worked. Unlike many trimmer this one has one one wire that cuts the leaf, no blades. I forgot to take a pic of the unit and upon further consideration did a poor job of documenting this. Anyways here we go.
First pic is the material being used in the trimmer as well as Bubbleman's new camera.
Second pic is the nugs trimmed off the stalks with the big fans removed.
Third pic is the nugs on the trimming surface, the wire is on the other side of the grate.
Fourth pic is the trimmed nugs in the bowl. Only took 40 cranks.
Fifth pic is the trim left in the bottom. Very good for keeping stuff outta the trim.
Sixth pics is a close look at the finished product. Peace GS

I saw it displayed at the hydro store but at $750 it seems mighty spendy.

Well the nugs we trimmed in 40 turns would have taken me well over an hour by hand. So I guess it depends how much you like to trim. LOL. Thanks for looking. Peace GS

Once you put it like that......... but still, $750. I'd say somewhere to the tune of $400 is more than fair.

hippies live to trim!

so basically this is a unit for people who like to grow lots of weed but are too cheap to pay some respectable hippies to do a proper trim job right...either that or it seems like it could be part of an ongoing conspiracy to replace every 5 hippies with one super hippy
check out the slick bud handling technique in the video, this guy really knows how to treat a lady!

so the machine that started this thread is the spin pro trimmer
the one in the video above was the handytrimmer
and below we have the pro-cut magic trimmer
what are the odds that 3 companies would release 3 identical products at the same time?
I definitely smell a conspiracy
I wonder what seuss would say?

Although I do fit into the too broke to pay 5 hippies category, I will not buy the machine as I like my hand trim better. If I have to go over it once to make it look how I want, I might as well just trim it . Peace GS

every bud should be treated like a work of art!

and hence the employment of hippies.

Well the work of art part might take the hippies off the list too. Peace GS

The instructions are 10 cranks, and they are $600 (taxes included).

Nice feature is that the crystal that is knocked off UR plantys (lol) is 100% recoverable....

Hey GS....

A hydro shop in Surrey is renting them out for $75 a day. I might give one a try, since I'm not aquainted with any super-hippies.

I saw one at the shop the other day that had a motor in the place of the hand crank. Inside on the top cover were lots of little rubber fingers to move the bud around. This was a rental unit for 125/day.

It seems these fingers brush too hard against the buds or the people over filled it cause they were covered in hash. Also i dont know how many times this was rented without cleaning but to give you an idea of how much resin it took off the buds I'd say you could've easily got 5-8 grams of hash off the fingers alone.

I saw a similar unit with a different design tested in an online video I believe it was called the Trim Reaper. Catchy title same resin robbing fingers.

Man if they don't clean that rental unit I would. LOl. Peace GS

some people are killing their buds with this thing.... but it is a life-saver for the lone-worker if you don't over-do it....

in the vid the guy is doing shade leaf and all (takes more cranks), I have tried it and I am putting buds in that have had all the leaf with petioles (stems) removed and 10 cranks (15 is too much) leaves the buds looking like a good hand trim (minus a bit of frost)....

the new models come with a thin blade instead of a wire. i was always skeptical about these trimmers but having now seen them in action I am convinced. This thing should pay for itself in saved hours of hired labour.

Hi guys, i have purchased one of these machines in the past.

On top of all the points you guys brought up, i would like to add that it is good for a job on stuff like 39, but really to be avoided on any exotic with fox tail morphology how we like them. Most exotic cannabis will be damaged and left looking commercialy grown after being passed through that shredder. I will say in it,s defense that i have done 15 pounds in one day by myself with it once but i was dissappointed at the final look of the nugs.
Just my 2 cents

The cutting apparatus is of medium importance...

Just think about these phat fingers pressing on your wet bud and rolling it against the grill, pouah, any connaisseur would have a heart attack... plus, if your gonna have to fuck with the remaining parts of Petiole and stubs on the bud, might as well do it all by hand....Plus, bud dried on the branch for slow evaporation through the tissues is so much better...So easy to trim when properly dried...

If you really need a machine, buy those automated ones that do all the job for you, separate branch, leaf and bud with a slight tumble action in a cylinder, no pressure at least...

these things really beat the crap out of the buds, no where near as good as a hand trim. They are pretty fast at dealing with the little stuff which can be a pain.

the resulting buds dry faster because they are completely broken down to little nugs when most people hand trim they leave the buds on the branches while they dry and that gives it a better slow dry/cure in my opinion.

not a big fan of these spin units.
