from what I have witnessed whole oats with the hulls works well and is cheap
in our area we can get a tonne (2200lbs) of certified organic feed grade oats for around 350 bucks...it is possible to fruit right from colonized grain logs and get good BE's just let them colonize for a good amount of time
if you use a mix of grains even better
if you are in the south maybe you can get sorghum, it's sposed to be the shit
I wouldn't frack around with peroxide get a pressure cooker, some jars with tyvek/polypro lids and go

I use bird seed and also rye as spawn.
Yes you can use turkey bags but use two, I have had them rip open before. In a large turkey bag I place 10-15 pounds of field-capacity bulk substrate. I put that in a large (30qt) 'stew' pot with a plate on the bottom to prevent overheating the bag. I put a candy thermometer in the water, you want it to stay between 140-160F. I put a meat thermometer in the bulk sub via tight rubber bands. Once the core temp reaches 140F start the clock. If your using coir then 60 minutes at 140F is fine.
The sub tends to float so try to remove all air you can. I use old peanut butter and spaghetti glass jars full of water as 'weights' to keep teh bulk sub mostly submerged. There is usually <5% of the bulk sub above water.
Rush Wane is a snake oil salesman...no, the peroxide tek is junk. So is the oven tek and trash bag tek. Have you built a glove box yet? You should and they are cheap to make!

I actually have the same setup.
I have a 4x4 "GrowLab" with a 600watt over 3x3 tray (with LOTS of other 'tech' goodies!), I vent through an insulated 6" hose into the attic. Next to the GrowLab is my fruiting room. It's about 4x7. It is painters plastic on all walls, ceiling and 2mil plastic tarp as floor. Within the fruiting room I have 3-4 mini-greenhouses (5' tall, same ones you have). I find if I keep the ambient humidity at >40% it is MUCH easier to keep the greenhouse humidity at 95-100%. So I have 2 impeller style cool mist humidifiers running 24/7 keeping the humidity in the fruiting room around >40%. The humidity outside the fruiting room does not matter so I can keep it ideal for cannabis.
