alfaalfa pellets and soil?

wanted to know if u added o:party: soil,how much to add to say a gallon of pro-mix? lik a tablespoon to a gallon? can u plant seed straight into this mix^^^ or wud u haveto wait some time before u plant seed into this mix,lik a couple a weeks,at a givn rate of 1 tablespoon to the gallon of pro-mix or not? anyone know how to? ....cloned/zzzzzz

I'd make tea with it first. Dissove a cup of the pellets in warm water and bubble it with an airstone for 1-3 days, then add that to your Pro Mix. That will help spread it's goodness throughout the Pro Mix evenly and activate the microbes & such. As far as the concentration goes...I'm a little clueless about that because I use a TDS meter for dealing with that (I play with hydro too). I'd figure a cup in a 5 gallon bucket would be an okay concentration, add as much of that as your Pro Mix needs without getting it too wet. That should probably be safe.

I was only able to purchase the alfalfa pellets as well. So, these pellets can be broken down and used in place of the alfalfa meal? Once broken down, do I use the same amounts as you reccommended to me in my thread? ;)

Hi Folks,

FYI....I just ran the Alfalfa pellets thru a normal kitchen blender, 2 cups at time. Set the blender on grind and it turns the pellets into meal in no time flat. I did enough for 2 bales of ProMix (20+ cups)....it took about 15 mins to complete the job, start to finish. ;)
