ethyl mercapatans can be detected very easily because they are listed in the guiness book as the smelliest substance in the world. they are added to make propane and natural gas smelly. a clean butane would have no where near enough to cause any problems to humans. colibri is a good brand that is very clean.

in a world of absolutes I vote for ethanol extraction
turbo yeast and white sugar makes some pretty clean solvent, just need a little still and a zeolite filter

albi, i have heard that some turpenes are soluble in alcohol, but not ater, so its a distinct possibilty I believe, that doing an alcohol extraction would pull out a wider profile of terpenoids. maybe c-ray or someone has a little sheet of terpenes and what they are soluble in.

and like c says, turbo yeast and white sugar makes VERY VERY clean ethanol. its the sort you can drink and not know that your drinkng ethanol till the buzz hits in about T - 5 seconds

so put the thermos in the freezer and shake the shit outa it and then pour tru coffe filter??

When I saw it done with alcohol, it was done in three rinses, all very quick and fairly gentle to keep out plant material. The weed was broken up a bit for the first rinse, more for the second and a bit more for the third. The rinsing of the weed lasted no more than a few seconds each time. The rinses were kept separate as the first rinse was the primo and the other rinses second and third respectively.
