SOG using 2 600w hps to light a 4 x 8 grow @ 1 plant per sq ft. plants are gonna be 36" at harvest..Need to know howw much of the bottom branches i should cut off? Right now they average 24.5" and i have trimmed the plant about halfway up at this point. The lower brachse are getting good light without much shading. My concern is distance from bulb..even thou they are getting unabated light im worried that im wasting energy leaving these lower branches on? This is my 3rd harvest and im still learning and trying to perfect this and im not sure if im killing my yield by trimming to much or what..... All the info i have done online on this topi is all the same as what i have in my books and its not in depth enuff...Any comments appreciated

At 32 plants on a 4x8, i would say that you have taken enough when you state that half of the bottom is already gone...

Wait for the 2nd to 3 rd week of flowering to re-assess if you need to cut out more or leave it as it is.

Try experimenting with a couple plants. A really good grower recommended I try cutting all but the top three nodes. I have yet to try it. How heathy are your plants?

all but the top 3 s some good advice......I've done all but he cola before with great results...the plant puts all it's energy into the cola instead of spreading the love.....it's a good idea :)
