check this thing out I havent tried it, but I seen it on a couple other sites, and they say its killer. http://www.adjustawings.com/superspreader-main.htm
Personally, I'd pass on them. The only value I can see in them is to reduce hot spots beneath the lamps, and air-cooled reflectors are great for that.

yea ,but what about the the edges of the grow and the power you save. and it seems to me it makes your bulb last longer as well. I dont know for sure but I have a couple of peopl tell me it makes a difference no worries, pass!
I've seen a lot of gimmicky crap come and go over the years, so I'm skeptical. Anything that purports to improve light is especially hard to believe. How could these things make any significant difference in the life of a lamp? The only way to reduce power consumption is to reduce light usage, and I wouldn't recommend that. But like I said, I'm a skeptic. Maybe I'm completely wrong.

I understand, I'm a skeptic too. I don't believe anything until I try it. Isn't heat what makes the bulb go quicker if the heat is reduced? Wouldn't the bulb have a longer life? I have 2 buddies that said the light reaches to the edge of their canopys a lot better with the spreader than with just the reflector itself. I know you said that air cool reflectors eliminate hot spots. Why wouldn't the holes in the spreader redirect the light in a more even spread over the canopy? Its aluminium so it doesn't hold heat. The spreader is bent like a v so it spreads the light in a v pattern, giving it a direction for the light to go rather than following the reflector straight down. If it spreads the light in an even pattern you would be able to get it closer to your plants resulting in a bigger yield with less energy used, less hot spots therefore making it easeir to cool the room and saving energy.
Like I said, I could be totally wrong about these things, but here's why I'm skeptical:
-The heat wouldn't be reduced at the bulb. If anything, it might increase because the spreader restricts airflow.
-The holes in the spreader would reduce the temps at the plant top, but at the expense of light. Blocking half (or more) of the the light would reduce bud size and yield. Air-cooled reflectors allow the buds to be within inches of the lamp without significantly reducing light.
-The "V" shape doesn't spread light in a "V" pattern, it reflects it outward (giving the outer plants a bit more light), which is trading off high intensity light for reflected, diminished, low intensity light at the lamps perimeter reaches.
-The overall heat output from the lights is unchanged, so room cooling would be unaffected.
Just my opinions. Try them out, I hope I'm wrong. More efficient use of energy is always a good thing.

I see ,it does seem like there is a lot of variables, but you really dont know unless you try. so I will see. I have 2 seperate tents, I will try to test it, I would like to test the spreader with a light meter, I will try 1 tent with it and 1 with out, Just to see. I appreciate the feed back. Im like you a nother product to get your money but 2 seperate people told me the same thing, so I must try.
dude that looks cool man neat. How much bigger of a garden can you have with those can it double the size of my garden. yo Purplehaze2 do you have tested those yet i see your posts and you know your stuff does it work good? when i get my diital 600 wat balast i was going to get a light mover to double the area of my garden but this looks alot cheaper and does the same thing

hey man I havent tried it yet, but I have 2 buddys that tell me it works killer. they said the edge of there canopys got alot more light. I ordered 2 so I will test with my light meter. check this out tjis is with a wing reflector but works with regular reflectors.

These things are amazing. Temps dropped 10
i dont have my 600 wat digital balast yet and im using 4 feet floresents and 2 black lights. the 4 feet floresents are brand new and super bright they are hard to look at do they make a light spreader that size?

no its only for hps or mh lights. you need that 600, it will give you a better yield and denscer buds.
