Thanks to Nugdigger for sending my lame brain to this forum.

I'm interested in getting clear concise information concerning extracting a high percentage of cannaboids using vegetable oil rather than chemical solvents.

The best would be any scientific research which has done a quantifying examination using both processes.

I'd also be interested in DIY methods A-Z and anecdotal comparisons of the potency of (extract) oil made with solvents and (extract) oil made with vegetable oil.

I'm interested in the healing attributes of the cannaboids, particularly as an anti-cancer agent.

Always wondered why no one uses hemp oil. Peace GS

the price I'd imagine
there is an article in the International Hemp Journal that says hemp oil can handle up to 350F or something like that so keeps the temps on the lower side

Must be cost cause it sounds perfect. I believe any higher temps and potency would degrade. Peace GS

ps. sorry to side track

it only makes sense to use hemp oil because the healing benefits are huge
another great oil that might be useful to add is some sea buckthorn oil, especially when used for topical application, but I am not sure what temps it can handle

beeswax can be melted and added if necessary to create a thicker consistency, but also as a preservative

Have heard honey works well and has man healing properties as well. Peace GS

Hey,

I don't have much to add except you may want to check out this sub-forum, there are a few chemists and others which may offer insight. Of course there are a few idiots you may have to deal with, it's not a nice, little and quite place like CW, much more noise to signal ratio at the Shroomery.

Hey MM,

How about microbes for the MicrobeMan? :)

While I doubt this research will be useful to you I iminage LAB extracting cannaboids, essential oils, etc. Then using the extract to make a tincture for topic application. Or how ever you are going to apply the extract.

Bruises and abrasions usually respond better to topical applications of traditional medicine (e.g. arnica) or to topical application of a tincture then internal ingestion of traditional medicine, at least in my experince. I have a broken spine and degenerative disk disease with advanced arthritis in my neck. I've used tincture before but I've always been keen on making one from cannabis, but I didn't want to use alcohol (traditional method) or solvents.

"Extraction of coconut oil with Lactobacillus plantarum 1041 IAM"
http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=2816760
Résumé / Abstract
Extraction of coconut oil with a pure culture of Lactobacillus plantarum 1041 IAM was investigated. Grated coconut meat and water at 30, 50, and 70°C were mixed in various ratios (1:1, 1:2, and 1:3) and allowed to settle for 2-6 h. The most efficient coconut cream separation was obtained at the 1:1 ratio of grated coconut meat to water at 70°C, followed by 6 h settling time. Fermentation was then conducted on coconut cream emulsion with the sample from 1:1 ratio, 70°C, and 6-h settling time. Oil yield from the fermentation process with 5% inoculum of L. plantarum 1041 IAM after 10 h at 40°C was 95.06% Quality characteristics of the extracted oil were as follows: moisture content, 0.04%; peroxide value, 5.8 meq oxygen/kg; anisidine value, 2.10; free fatty acid, 2.45%; iodine value, 4.9; and color, 0.6 (Y + 5R). Extraction of coconut oil from coconut meat with L. plantarum 1041 IAM was significantly improved in both oil yield and quality over the traditional wet process.
