I made this thread just to throw up random pictures of what's going on in the Lungbox. Right now the plants are in week 4 of flower. I've got a 1000W Hortilux EYE and CO2 enhancement in the box. First an overall view, then a close-up of one of the BMS colas, after that a SPG and then two SSxC/K.

cool lungus that looks like solid ducting ,I cant see it totally though,Does the C02 help with flavor or does it just speed up the process, and what do you mean its inn the box. .its the big bad 1000 watter, nice variety. I need to do that more ,keep a couple different kinds.so I can switch up smoke from day to day,I been screwing myself and running out to quick, but not no more. And I see you got your favorite going. lungus I ordered some air pots I would like to send you a couple free, just let me know. thanks for the sat night show PH2

how do you find spg compared to sweet tooth? Never had the Sweet tooth but I like the SPG in the daytime a nice heady buzz that doesn't bring you down.
cool lungus that looks like solid ducting ,I cant see it totally though,Does the C02 help with flavor or does it just speed up the process, and what do you mean its inn the box. Well, I talk a better box than I build (I would definitely change the configuration to eliminate the bends in the flex duct if I ever redid it). While I have solid 90 bends coming off the hood I still have bends in my flex duct which is why I put a 6"muffin fan to help keep things moving along. The exhaust fan that evacuates the box when the heat gets too high has hard ducting. The CO2, if anything deadens the smell a bit but it speeds rate of growth. Like when plants are first flowering and you can see when the internodes are getting closer together and that the top cola might be 6-7 internodes long. With the CO2 that top cola may stretch out 10-15 internodes long and get fatter as well. Done right it can give you 20-30% increase in yeild but it always takes a lot of dicking around to get it dialed in.

A quick look at the Lungbox. It's 4x4x7 ft. The small centrifugal fan with the 4" semi rigid duct constantly sucks air out of the box to keep negative pressure on the box an wick of excess humidity. It is also on a dimmer so it only runs as fas as it needs to but right now in full bloom it's wide open. You can see the CO2 tank and regulator in the background. The 6" fan on the floor pushes air into the box and the 8" fan on the inside pulls it out through another charcoal filter when the thermostat kicks on the extra ventilation. Oh, and the peek-a-boo window so I can gaze at my plants without disturbing their environment. I haven't mentioned it before but another good ducting is the semi rigid stuff I have. It's made of aluminum and it comes compressed about 3' long but stretches out to 10' and it's flexible in you can make bends out of it but it doesn't accordian like the flex duct. Any questions feel free to ask.

thats awesome the little peek window,I have both of your watering jugs the metal one and the green plastic one.nice stealth you can actually look in the window and not see anything like it was never there.so you have 3 vortec fans are those 440cfm And did you not have the flange with your air filter because I see the duct tape rapted around it to seal it. I put a piece of door seal around the top of the filter were the flange and it sealed it perfect no leaks , before I had air leaks.

Lungus
07-13-2008, 04:28 AM
I actually have 4 Vortec or Elicent fans. The 4" bleeder fan with the small filter is about 90-100 cfm. The light is cooled by a 6" Elicent 150 A that is 235 cfm, the 8" Elicent evacuation fan is the lower speed 200 A and it is 440 cfm or so but the charcoal filter will slow it down a bit and the outside Elicent 150 B that pushes air in is around 310 cfm. But even with all those fans on negative pressure is still maintained because if you put a joint up to the crack in the door it still sucks the smoke in.

PS The filter came with a flange but like the flex duct but not as bad, the semi rigid stuff allows minute amounts of stinky air to escape on the filter side of the fan and I could smell it a bit when the girls were smelling like old warthogs in there, so I wrapped it with duct tape to seal it up.

so what you smoking this saturday night lungus ?

Lungus
07-13-2008, 06:33 AM
Believe it or not I usually run out between harvests because I'm such a cannahog, so I'm smoking store bought pot, actually tonight I'm smoking dry sift made from all the leftover crumbs from all the joints I've rolled all week. The running out sucks because it always bites to pay for weed that usually isn't as good as my own lovingly grown herb. I also don't get as much as I used to either because some of the strains I grow now are not big yielders, they're awesome weed, but not huge yeilding plants.

Nice setup man.
One question that sprang to mind while reading was regarding the evacuation fan at the top. You said you have it on all the time in full flower, doesn't that suck out the CO2 you're putting in?

Maybe I misread or misinterpreted the goings on in your hut.

That spg sounds right up my ally, in my 5 years living in BC I never (knowingly) have tried this herb. Smoked lots of champagne and kush while in Whislter but never the spg.

keep on keepin on.

The big evacuation fan only comes on when the thermostat turns it and the 6"pusher fan on. The fan that pulls on the room all the time is the little 4" fan on a dimmer with a small Can filter that can be seen outside the box. The thermostat runs a flip flop switch that turns off the CO2 when the evacuation fans start up and turns it back on when the heat has dropped and the fans turn off. The small bleeder fan pulls slowly on the box wicking off excess transpirated moisture but not fast enough to pull out all the CO2. I used to have a sniffer (It finally died) but I know where the meter has to be set to maintain the enrichment levels I want. I would like to get a used sniffer/controller sometime, just set the CO2 level you want and it sniffs CO2 concentration and dispenses the CO2 as needed.

I know PNW doesn't anymore cause I asked them about it, but you never know till you try.
Found out I mislabeled a plant and one of my SSxC/Ks is a SPG. I thought it looked different and I gave it a sniff sure enough it's a SPG, so I only have one SSxC/K this time, bummer.

Thanks for the birthday props. Hey Albi I just tried the Ardbeg 10 yr. old, not my thing, but Laphroaig Quarter Cask and the Lagavulin 16 yr. old mmmmmm, yummy. One of these weeks I'm gonna pick up a Bowmore 18 yr. old and have a bash at that.

Here's a couple of updated Lungbox pics for week 6 of flower. First close up is the Fast Lanny (45 day BMS pheno), then two pics of the SSxC/K and last is a pic of the Frankenberry.

I'll have to slip by for a quick sesh and I have a BBQ in my honor to go to this aft, busy busy. Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone and yes, PH2 the Franks make dense hard nugs with a very powerful skunkberry, smell. Not the kind of weed to be carrying if your trying to be stealth. I smuggled some back home with me on the plane the other Christmas along with other weed and the vacu-bag the Fberry was double bagged in got a small leak and I could smell it a bit. I was freaking a little but I made it.

that remindes me of the time going to costa, 3 of us had some stinky killer weed. its a 8 hour flight with a lay over. we sat down and waited for the plane to start loading and the officer with the dog cam up and sniff each one of us. I had 4 reg baggies and 1 zipp lock and the dog didnt smell it, I had it in my croch. my two friends got scared and dumped there goods in the trash. we had a saying { if you dont bring it you dont smoke it}. but I held strong, when we got off that flight, they were begging for a hit of that fat stank ass joint.

Tonight I took down my Blue Moonshine F2's, I call them Fast Lanny (semi long story), which from some of the descriptions I've read, they sound a lot like the Flo or Flodica. Here's the pics as I was taking them down, if anyone has grown Flo or Flodica please tell me if they resemble either, it would be cool to know.

Here is my micro outdoor. I put out a 4" tall English Cheese clone and a Blue Moonshine about a foot tall on July first. I bent the BMS over right away and it didn't bush at all, just sent up three poles. The Cheese bushed out very nicely and both will likely finish at the end of October if I can keep them from molding. The BMS isn't showing any pistils yet but it's showing the signs of starting to flower. Here's a few shots, first an over all view, then the Cheese followed by the BMS and followed up with some close-ups of the Cheese buds.

A quick peek at the Lungbox in the third week of flower has a Purple Nepalese right up front and center. Things are coming along pretty good but the SSxC/K doesn't like the steer poop I put in the bottom of the pots as evidenced by the curled leaves. They should do alright but next time I will forgo the poop. The others seem to like a layer of poop on the bottom that they can stick their toes into to get anything they are lacking. I've checked the bottom of pots after harvest and the poop has always been fully invaded by roots.
I also threw in a couple of shots of Jaysprout's Freeze/Berlins, one Indy pheno and one more Satty pheno. Check the Purple Nepalese thread for more pics of that.

nice to see people growing those highend f2.
frankenberry hehe what a great name. still have a few those seeds left ,they were just amazing .
actualy everything icrossed into my highend mom turned out good.
im just sorry i never kept the male highend as i guess he was special too.
around the same tome i made the highend f2 i also made some highend skunk1.
i just took some down a few days ago, second summer to grow them and they are very good outdoor plants, very heavy and they give a very strong head rush, very bazzy, taste is on some just like the mom and the rest a bit too sickly sweet but people like them.

nice to see people growing those highend f2.I'll have to post some pics tomorrow of the one I have growing this round. I have another pheno as well as the Frankenberry, but I haven't grown it in a couple of rounds now. The Highend/Skunk sounds awesome as well. Thanks for dropping by and for making those seeds, Kanebosem. I have a friend whose absolute favourite weed is Frankenberry, she always asks if I've got any of that around. Slow, slow, slow vegger though. I can start the Frankenberries at the same time as the other clones and they won't really be ready to go into the flowerbox until those other clones have been harvested and the next round goes in.

lungman how are they going?

how was the freeze x berlin?

Lungus
11-26-2008, 03:33 AM
I've been smoking the Freeze/Berlins for a week now and they both have a smell approaching that of the Sweetskunk or Congo mixed with a light fruityness with one pheno more fruity and the other danker with more of the sour citrus thing going on. When smoked they both have a lot of Kush in the taste. I've pretty much decided that the more fruity one has the better high, even though I like the smell of the danker pheno better.

Thanks for the props Albi. Let's see, I have two phenos of Jaysprout's Freeze/Berlins, one pheno I'm letting go, I took no cuts of it last time, the other will get it's final judging this time around. I have The Tuna, which a pheno of the Lemon Kush, Sweetskank, Watty, SPG, Frankenberry and Purple Nepalese. A good all around selection.

Here's a little look in the Lungbox at three weeks into flower. Had air leak issues last time that sucked out my CO2 and kicked me in the balls with a low yield. I picked up a new bulb, vegged them longer and changed my soil mix a little which may have helped as well. At any rate they're rockin' this time around, so far at least.
