My order was correct at Wendy's for a change and traffic has been a breeze with all of the landscape trucks off the road.

Hmmmm. How are things without the strikers? Maybe we should try using some kind of moat at the border? With crocodiles.

You racist pigs! Let's look to israel for a roll model...Big fence, lots of guns ,check-points, etc...

On a completely different note: not a single ladder was seen on the 'inner loop' , blocking traffic, all day...

In case anyone hasnt heard there is a huge outbreak of ..mumps...in illinois.

mumps?? when was the last time ya heard about mumps in the ... USA ???

The title should be "Illegal Immigration Boycott." Me and my friends whiled our day away with this little gem.

Enjoy!

I find it interesting that the press refers to the protesters as immigrants when in reality they are illegal aliens.

A friend of mine's daughter was beat up during her lunch break by a group of 'protesters' in denver, just one block from a group of news crews and a police staging area, which she promptly went to for help. The press reported that there was no violence in denver today, ever after a battered white girl in a torn business suit walked thru their camp to seek help from the police.

Spin, baby spin.

both of my parents came here from the old sod, i am the first in my family to be born in this country, so i do have an opinion...

as has already been stated, if they're "immigrants" i have nothing but support for them, if they're illegal immigrants, they can turn around, go back to wherever they hail from, fill out the proper documents and come back through the front door.

My wife has been in Chicago for the past few days at the International Reading Association assembly. She called last night and said you wouldnt believe the amount of protesters that have occupied the city.

She is staying at the Hilton downtown and said there were swat snipers on the roof of the hotel. She had a luncheon planned with James Patterson one of her favorite authors but couldnt make it becuase of security issues.

Back here at the home front things seem'd quite normal. Farmers had the hispanic employees trimming apple trees and other farm work doings. Went to my fav. little very ethnic mexican stores where they also sell homemade food and got some pork tacos with cilantro and queso sauce mmm chit good.

I think immigration should be controlled some what but I will say that the migrant workers in my area are some hard working SOB's. One of the older farmer that recently passed away who use to stop by on his tractor and shoot the shit with me always professed that with the work ethic of the migrants and the lack of of the white man that mexicans would easily take over many of the jobs here in the US.

I dont know but I wouldnt want to pick apples all day or work in the fields in the blazing heat!

Anyways its fun stuff I guess to see the media consumed with somehting differant than the normal BS that they usually air!

Peace

Res & Lothar-I guess you missed the tongue in cheek part of 'racist pigs' and the not tongue in cheek part of 'look to Israel'...

The ONLY way Israel think they can get out of this 'situation' is a huge wall.
and they got a short border, admittedly with more suiside bombers but less graffiti. They also suffer the same problems of 'cheap' labor and cheap bastards who had rather pay 'under the table' than real 'lavable wages...
FYI-this is not to bring up the whole jew vs gentile issue...:-)

Oh, and it's not a particular race-if the caped crusader's folks( seems like they might be mics to me...) just paid taxes, served on jury duty, and all that other 'citizen' crap, are/were good people..

and nobody noticed the 'no ladder' thing? Jesus, i guess your painting contractors use different labor sources...

Sorry CB, there's history... :)

Anyone who watched this weekend's DTMS show on Hamas knows that the issues in Israel don't really jibe with our immigration problems. That one's going to be winner-take-all in the end. Hamas wants an end to Israel, not a redefined relationship. Mexicans and Central Americans don't want to take the US, they want to take FROM the US. Big difference.

Outside of the loop, the demonstrations may just as well have never taken place. Totally unnoticeable beyond, as noted, relieving some of the traffic and other problems commonly associated with having too many frickin' people.

If they can put pot smokers in jail seems to me that they can put illegal immigrants in jail too. It would help the economy. We would have to build more jails. Hire more guards. Not to mention all the lawyers we would need. Hell we could take the unemployed and give them good jobs as Immigration Police. Put a 10.00$ bounty on each illegal and see how fast they get rounded up. Look at all the people we would have to put to work to ship all the illegals back home. No outsourcing these positions either. It's a win win sittuation. So STFU about what I smoke or enforce the other laws that are on the books. My .02$

Lothar-there’s lots of history…and it’s written by the winners…

Are you talking about the discovery times channel?
Sorry, may have different cable systems…

Do you really think Israel will be driven into the sea?
I seem to recall a preemptive strike in the 80’s…
Hamas’ election was a reaction against vice and corruption, but power atracts the corruptible…
We’ll see what happens…

Different history (me and rm)

DTMS is Discovery Times, as abbreviated by our friends at DirecTV. :D

Like poker, the game of hate and cyclical violence Hamas is playing doesn't end until there's only one player left at the table. Unfortunately for them, they're not good card players, and they're playing with the REALLY short stack. It is only through Israel's good graces (and the American leash) that they have never been forced to play "All In"

country boy

Great shows on that network and it's close to the 'Military Channel'...!

IMHO, Israel has NO 'good graces'-not that it's a BAd thing in international politics...
Amerika's 'short leash' will last as long as it pleases those in power...

And now for something completely different...

lothar...you need to look into why hamas started...they are freedom fighters not terrorists...history is always forgotten...

Geez, did I need a smiley face to make the point that Israeli good graces and American leash were facetious?

It's true, though, that the "Palestinian People" could have been wiped off the map years ago (or absorbed into other Arab states, but that's another story altogether.) Why haven't they been? Why have they been allowed to remain at Israel's borders, lobbing explosives indiscriminately? How many reside and work within Israeli borders? How do they remain a cohesive people after all of these years, when Israel obviously has the military means to completely exterminate them?

Forget collateral damage and refugee camp atrocities - which happen on both sides of war. Why haven't the Palestinians been bulldozed into dust, as is obviously within Israel's capabilities?

It doesn't matter why they started. Their methods are ultimately counterproductive and will only drag the Palestinian people through more misery before they wind up with a deal Arafat could have had years ago if he had been willing to drop the hate.

PS - I'm not xenophobic, I'm egocentric and pragmatic. I'd happily kick a generic-burden-on-the-system-for-whatever-reason out to let someone productive and contributory in. OK, productive might be the wrong word - let's say self-sufficient? Less burdensome on public resources?

...dude...it doesn't matter why they started?..wtf...

...the current incarnation of a resistance group in palestine, known as hamas, are fighting for their lives...they have a legitamite right to this struggle...they did not invade israel, israel invaded them...

...at the end of the second world war, the scattered european jews demanded a home land...the newly created united nations gave them one...under the 1947 partition plan, palestine was carved up...

...you have to realize that these people, the arabs, had sided with the nazis...which is odd considering they are also semites...after losing the war...thank the gods...they where open to accepting certain implimentations, if you will...basically, in the beginning, the arabs of the region accepted the right of a jewish state...so was born israel...

...remember that hamas is a fairly new organization that has structured itself around earlier tactics and ideals...the plo for instance...which was created in reaction to another violent group...irgun

irgun, now defunt but with offspring, had existed since the 40's...they where zionist extremist who bombed the shit out of arab and british interests...that group was led by menachem begin...remember him?..he's why arafat had fuel to fight...

...literally, things went really well until 1967...considering...then isreal went and occupied the west bank...illegally...many died...to this day...but, according to the red cross, for every one isreali that has died, 7 palestinians have suffered the same fate...this is not right...palestine has a legitamite right to exist and, like any good patriot, will fight with its dying breath...which, apparently, the world is allowing...

...do not, under any circumstances think, that israel is innocent and that hamas is doing anything but play the game the un created...hamas is a legitamite government body...the knesset is questionable...

they where open to accepting certain implimentations, if you will...basically, in the beginning, the arabs of the region accepted the right of a jewish state...so was born israel...

The Arabs (other than Sadat and to some extent the US bridled Jordanians) have NEVER accepted the right of a Jewish state to exist. This is why they never accepted the Palestinians in their countries as anything more than refugees. To have allowed them to settle would have been the ultimate acquiescence that Israel was legitimate. The Palestinians have never been more than pawns of the Arab League, used as symbols of their continued dedication to the "rectification" of 1947. They are actually the much more appropriate target for the Palestinian rage.

Israel didn't occupy anything outside of their UN mandate until after the 6 day war - which was begun by the Arabs. They could have expanded further - and ethnically cleansed Gaza and the West Bank if that was their will.

Everyone alive today has a historical beef against someone else. Somebody's got to have the will to end the game, and it's rarely the player holding all of the cards and chips.

Religion always puts a weird set of ideals into things so simple as 'freedom fighters.'

Would one kill themselves, in other countries trying to fight for freedom... they are fighting an impossible fight. They have no real ideal as to how to form the world they want, just want at this point to kill all opposers and retaliate, over and over and over again. The original quest is very disillusioned now.
