View Full Version : 2 feminized plants only - higest yield?

Hi all,

I did my first grow several years ago but, until recently, had nowhere to grow.

Glad to say I'm back and excited. Here is my situation.

2 feminized plants both about a foot tall
1 feminized hempster (mostly indica)
1 feminized durban poison (mostly sativa)

In my state it is a misdameanor if you have no more than 4 plants.
What I ultimately intend to do in an effort to avoid any possibility of a felony is TELL NO ONE.... and flower 2 plants (one of each of the above) and have 2 clones in a veg box.

A few questions.

First:
My thoughts were.... once the first crop was done in the flower room I would clone the existing clones (which are now technically the mamas).... and then stick the (now grown) mamas into the flower room and let the new clones grow in the veg room...... theoretically I would just keep doing this over and over.
Is this wise or should I take clones from the mamas.... and put the new clones into the flower room after several weeks and keep the mamas in a perpetual veg state and continue to take new clones off the mamas every 2 months or so.

Second (and more importantly):
I want to maximize yield..... but stay under the 4 plant scenario. I currently have a 250w hps light. Room size constraints are not an issue. I am using traditional dirt and perlite. (Too newbie for hydro at this point)

Should I:
1:) buy a larger light and flower two plants traditionally? ....say a 400w hps... Would there really be much benifit from a larger light over the 250 w hps with only 2 plants in flower?
2.) keep the 250w hps and scrog horizontally
3.)keep the 250 w hps and vertical scrog

Both vertical and horizontal scrog sound interesting.... but it appears that traditional scroggers use 1 plant per sq foot of chicken wire wheras i would only have the two plants in the flower room.

Thanks in advance!!

2 400W bulbs in flower. One for each plant in Scrog.
recycle the mothers onto the flower garden as you suggest and then veg up clones for two months to replace.

You should get half a pound a light.Give them the biggest amount of medium you can.I suggest 10 gallon pots. And veg the mothers in 5 gallon pots.I would use another 400W in the veg section.

1200W total will not arouse any problems

Thanks Cannarchist!

Is that v-scrog or horizontal scrog??

Also.... does it matter if the plants veg, growing normally in a pot..... and then after being a foot tall i start to train them via scrog in the flower room? how does that work??? do i just start tying down the foot tall vegged plant onto the screen when i move it to the flower room?

Horizontal Scrog works best with only a couple of plants.

For max yield I would scrog the clones/mothers as soon as they start.Try a 4ft x 4ft screen for each plant.Fits a standard 4ft x 8ft space.Yield is directly related to volume of medium/soil.If you really want to "Kick" it I'd go buy 4 ft diameter plastic kiddie pools from your local box store and put the vegged rootballs into that but try to make the screens in the veg 4ft x 4ft as well. Then you can just move the 5 gallon rootballs into the kiddie pools and go again each time.

Try to build 2 "Rooms" both 4ft x 8ft area .then that makes it easy to just move between the two.Contains the light well.
