Hash after the seeds?

Question to those of you in the know: I´ve decided I want to have my own seed supply from now on and maybe even try a little strain crossing, if I can.
What I´m ´wondering is, is it worth trying to make hash from the plant after it´s produced the seeds, or is a waste of time?
