Sup peoples. I got a problem with my new batch of clones. My clones have started yellowing badly at about 2 weeks after taking the cuttings. This is my first time taking cuttings with no dome and things were fine for a while but the yellowing slowly started to come in about a week in.

My cloning process is pretty basic. Had em under a 100watt floro and sitting on a heat mat. Ive been soaking the cubes in tap water whenever they dry out. After the yellowing started i grabbed some Dutchmaster A.P.S. and followed the directions of soaking the cubes in the solution, and mixing penetrator with A.P.S. for a foliar spray that should be applied every 2 days. After 2 sprays with the A.P.S. and a few soakings over the past few days nothings changed. It's getting worse actually. Mainly on the Purple Cream clones but the Sour D is slowly getting worse..

Any ideas on what the problem is? Any solutions? As usual any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I feed the ones that are yellowing with some high N grow nute like 5-1-1 1/4 dose to start. It is my impression that the plants will often start to show some yellowing after the roots have emerged then they need to be fed.

Are they fully rooted yet?

If you mist your cuts heavily with plain H20 then you are leeching the nitrogen from them. Its a process called reverse folair feeding.

If they are rooted you should be able to start them on a fert regimin. With the leaves that are already yellow and dieing you will not see improvment. If they are rooted start a mild fert schedual and look for improvment within the new growth.

If they havnt rooted than stop misting them with straight h20 and use a dome instead for a bit. You could also foliar feed with a very mild high N solution.

What temp is the bottom of the tray,,,what was it kept at if ya usin a heat mat?

What size grodans are those they look like 4 inch,,are they the mini ones,,i always use the sheets with no plastic,,well mostly do

not always but most of the time by two weeks they should be rooted are showing roots

pull one out of the rockwool cube,,,if it just pulls out and is just showing thickening with little nubs but if is looking slimey you might have the answer there

be careful pulling out take off the plastic and gently pull apart to see if any roots have formed

also sometimes with that much rockwool,,your water should have been acidic,,,i have noticed once in awhile it makes a difference

Thanks for the advice. I only foliar sprayed with the APS. Never with the tap water. This is my first time spraying with anything while cloning actually. I will take your advice into consideration about mild nutes. So far im using the APS to soak the nutes, i'll check to see what the NPK ratios are.

Im using a heat mat with no temp control. So only turn it on once in a while and only for about 30 min. Barely use it. I think it may be useless because my closet its pretty warm. My cubes are the chunky small cubes (2x2). Im using them because they're sturdier (sp) than the normal 1.5x1.5's. I'll pull a few clones and see if they come out. I dont think i have that weird stem rot, i usually get it when i use domes, but i will check anyways and get back to you.

Thanks for the help fellas (melo as well :)) brb

Most of the clones seem to have rooted even tho they're not showing roots. Showing resistance when i tried to pull em out. The few that did come out looked pretty normal with little bumps or nothing at all

I have shot of the APS bottle so you guys can let me know if thats enough food for them or not. The clones are not at my grow where i have more food and stuff but it's just a simple drive to get supplies

have you always had success using the 100 watt flouro,,in the past?

looks like with your warmer than normal closet just keep them tented with plastic sheeting or the dome

They are using up the nutrients and nitrogen into the plantlets to survive,,,could be a harder strain to root,,get a aquarian air pump and aerate the water keep it a inch or so high and bubblelin

Thanks for the help resinman. I'll use my smaller floro and see if that helps
