Kandie Kandie Kandie. Peace GS
ive just figured out how to resize my pics :o they will all be outdoors i have 10 powerhouse (deep chunk x c99) too, but most will be put in my guerilla patch and some will put out in the new forest on private land... the kandies will stay at home and be force flowered. Unfortunately only 3 out of 19 germinated i had 100% with my other seeds so i dont think it was completely my fault, i should have given them extra special love.

good luck with your garden dpn
Peace RG
First and second pic is of a highland kandahar that i grew in my guerilla patch last year, she made your eyes very red lol. Last pic is a mango frosting up nicely in my garden (last year).
thanks rainha i can only hope my herbs this year come out as nice as yours, might be a bit pushy in this climate lol
First and last pics DVP dutch x NL5, second pic mutant? kandahar, third pic power house i have 10 of these.
thanks to those who donated their genetics :) i hope i can do them some justice.

Lots of strange leaf in the Kandahar,They seem to grow out of it though.
Looking good man. whats the jig with the highland kandahar?
nice! I'll be watching this one too! :D
PS...can I get an invite for some tea? "Herb Gray" please! ;)
my favourite tea is clipper ginseng and green tea :) it has a deep bubblegum like taste...
the highland kandahar was one of the parents from highland afghani i picked a pack up back when i was a reeferling... the one in the pic had a peppery, sewer/skunky funk smell to it, nice big sticky resin glands, leafy buds which were harvested early due to mold. I had a couple in the garden that where more sativa looking and had a strange fruit, chutney smell. Good potency, red eye and munchie inducing :) i think i might pop a few ss x c/k
Heres the HK in my secret knotweed patch that has been expanded for this years endeavor.
bottom pics ss x c/k and salish x nigerian (top), ready for a kelp bath.
the ss x c/k will be force flowered in my garden.
1 baby salish x nigerian (i have 4 of these)
1 ss x c/k lifting its head to the heavens :sun:

very nice indeed!
Zoom zoom zoom. May your harvest be bountiful DPN.
thank voix, bit miffed our herb has been turned into a class B again though :(
looks great man, it seems you will be smoking some awesome weed the next couple of months.......
tell us more about your garden, soil and how you will feed them etc
:farm:
Ive been using coir as the base for my seedling mix but im not too happy as to how healthy my babies look, the ones with the peat based mix look much greener/happier...
I will keep a small handful at home but prefer not to have too many for stealth reasons as some of my neighbours are trash and i dont trust them... i think i will keep 6? in my secret knotweed garden that i used last year. 6 or so more will be kept in my new slow berry guerilla patch, which needs alot of soil moved in, ill do that at the last minute lol.
Ive been soaking in 1 gallon of water...
2 pounds of nettles
1 pound comfrey
1 tbsp liquid kelp (could have used more)
1 tbsp diy catalyst (wheat bran, malt, yeast, kelp, molasses)
1 tbsp chicken poo pellets
1 tbsp bat quano (high P)
... one week later its starting to smell, although its being semi bubbled with a solar powered bubbler, which only works when the sun is out and not when over cast btw.
Some will be put out in the new forest soon as they need to be repotted :sun: happy growing my friends...
ps i have 9 pakistani plants ready for the forest too :farm:
interesting.... hope i can learn something from you, that tea mix looks promising i like how things are done...
im slowly getting greener fingers, but i do need to learn more patience lol... i hope i have a good harvest this year, its my first try with all these strains, some will be risky finishing in time, fingers crossed.
oh yeah i use bio bizz grow too.

sounds good, are you using dry or fresh comfrey and nettles?
I would dandelion too
I feel your pain with the coir...it is better in a drip type system I reckon
hey dpn,
You may want to scale back your comfreya bit, a little goes a long way...it's used in biodynamics and such as a compost activator, etc. The thing is that comfrey will breakdown quickly...in a compost pile it'll turn to sludge in a matter of days. It may turn to goop and be detrimental to your tea and may increase anaerobic activity...just a thought.
Looking forward to your grow, I always like to see ppl trying new things!
fresh comfrey & nettles (i have an abundant supply of both). Last year i dried out about a pounds worth of fresh young comfrey leaves and put them in my jerky dehydrator and made a couple of cups worth of comfrey powder, which has been added to my knotweed patch.
fresh is better isn't it?
all of the dandelion? i know all parts have there uses...
ive been eating the nettles and comfrey too, for the nettles i take the top young growth between my fingers and firmly squeeze and roll it and then chew the nettle juice out. Ive added comfrey (& parsley) leaves blended into my fresh carrot juice, tastes fine :kind:
My tea can be smelled when close, bubbling has kept smells down i think... i have a feeling my tea might be slightly anerobic, but it will be diluted with aged water... i add some fresh compost to the watering can just before watering too.

fresh is better isn't it?
maybe, probably, but I like your application of powdered comfrey too
all of the dandelion?
in biodynamics they use the primo flowers, but I would use the leaves too
more pics tomorrow... im popping out this evening to add more peat to my guerilla patch, to fluff things up a bit :)
i just shifted a 100L bale of peat on my push bike down a 3 mile dirt track, the things we do for a smoke lol.
salish x nigerian (different phenos) :mexi:
I have started to feed a bit more heavily now as some are looking a bit nitrogen deficient, so i made a chicken poo tea by mixing a tbsp of chicken shit into a cup of boiling water and then added it to 10L (2 gallons) of water + im using biobizz too but it seems to lack in punch? i kinda gave up on the nettle soup as it started to stink something awful, i will use the nettles but i will just take a handful of tops and blend them and use them straight away.
looking good bro. you will find the salish leaners suck up the N
The picture of the Kandhar surrounded by the flower petals is quite pretty. also I used some biobizz products quite a while ago, and noticed the lack of punch that you mention. I do not remember exactly which products exactly I used, but the company reccomended using them as primary fertilizers.
Punch? More like a little kid's slap. I suppose I could have used more of the product per application and the results may have been better.
Keep it up dpn
thank you, i sprinkled it with confetti for the picture... only joking they were already there :)
i hear ya on the bio bizz lacking a punch i think i might get something else to veg with, or just use chicken + comfrey teas?

Hi dpn, Have you ever played around with alfalfa? Works great for veg tea additive. Most feed stores sell it as pellets.
You'll know when its ready, it smells just like horse peeppee...
Looking good!
i bought some alfalfa seeds but haven't sprouted them yet, i have seen pellets but they were kinda expensive but i think i might treat my ladies and get some :)... i have seen alfalfa straw though i was planning on using it as a mulch?

alfalfa alfalfa alfalfa~~!!!
how much chicken poo would you use per gallon? hmmm
caddis
05-31-2008, 11:49 PM
1/2 to 3/4 c. should give you some good action. If you have the alfalfa hay just chop some up as fine as you have the time and add a cup or more worth into your soup...with the 1/2 c of chicken gold you should reach plant orgasma.
thanks for info caddis :)
i have 8 of the best and biggest looking ladies in my secret knotweed patch now, i was meant to take pics today but i will do that tomorrow instead.

dry alfalfa is pretty cheap from the farm feed stores but you usually have to buy a large bag like 20 kg...also have seen smaller bags at places that sell rabbit food
if you want some fresh legumes for ferts just have a look by the roadside, should be some red or alsike clovers putting on some nice growth by now
grass clippings work too
SS x K/C what do you think this pheno leans towards? sweet skunk? shes looking happier now that its been repotted and just had a chicken poo & compost tea :)
kandahar, looking happy and soaking up the english sun (& the chemtrails which were the heaviest ive seen, making it very hot and stuffy) i hope shes a cherry flavoured lady? :)

Never seen the Kandahar as a live planty but I can tell you that it doesn't really remind me of Sweet Skunk or Congolese. Looks happy though. Good luck. Peace GS

Apricots and pink pistils thats the Kandy you want. Peace GS
salish x nigerian, i have 4 of these this is the prettiest one imo... they will be going in my forest patch soon.
i visited my powerhouse patch the other day but forgot my camera, they are all looking good apart from one that was bent over and the stem looks quite damaged? i dont what caused this? but its been rescued and is perking up a bit.
My secret knotweed garden :) first impressions would be that the plants are too close, i will fan out the plants and stake them down out and away from each other once they are tall enough. The plants are a foot away from each other and have a good 2 foot of soil below there pale toes, so theres enough root space to grow some nice sized plants. 1 plant got mysteriously damaged and is recovering, but was stunted and is being dwarfed some what by its allies. Ive topped dressed with some chicken poo today and gave them a kelp drink also. 7 plants are powerhouse, 3 on the right side (smaller plants) are purple no1, and the tallest is a dutch x nl5 ;)
dutch x nl5 the most sativa looking out of the bunch and i think its a girl :) will take my eye loop lense down soon to be sure. The knotweed is a seen as a massive nuisance in this country as its so hard to eradicate, im not complaining about this patch though, you can see the exit path just about...
actually the top right picture in post #53 is the dvp dutch, the pic with alot of my hand in it.
Im happy with the results so far, 10 out of 12 are females :) not a bad ratio.
Unfortunately ive culled some males in my home garden (3 out of 4) salish x nigerian  got killed today and i think 2 of my ss x c/k are males, 1 is a confirmed female kinda kandy looking :smoke3:
Powerhouse pics, you can see the ghani influence, clones have been taken from the lower branches...
female bits, dvp dutch x nl5 (my sexist plant imo) purple no1 taking off...
semi group shot, the plants are definately too close but i got lazy and wanted to try more plants. Ive staked the back lot down and away from each other. Im sure it will work out fine lol (the water bottle is a gallon btw)
i think a fox has made his home in the knotweed too as yesterday when i visited i was watering my green friends when a rustling started from behind me and i froze! as it sounded like someone was pushing there way in to get me lol and then the noise stopped, all of a sudden :taz: shhrrreeeaaaak!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk1mAd77Hr4 to get an idea of the sound listen to this, they sometimes can sound very human and the noise they make was known as the witches cry.
i shit myself lol... i laughed hard afterwards hehe

Looking good! Those powerhouse plants have some nice big leaves.
nice man. any smells on anything yet?
the whole plot is pretty much odourless unless you rub a stem, i can smell a deep canna pineapple funk on some of the powerhouses. The dvp dutch has a pepperminty? kinda menthol aroma, what can i expect from this lady? flower time, stone, etc?
i visited today and they have grown a nice amount since i last visited :)
Looking fantastic dpn. I am cracking up about the fox! Holy mackarel, I would have pooped AND peed myself. He is your ally though it seems. It can be like dances with wolves, but it is you and a fox instead of Costner and a wolf.
he definately gave me a fright the little bugger lol and he has kept the rabbits at bay, which are abundant where i am... check out how cute this little fella is Awwwwwww :)

there taking off now :)
biggest fan leaf ever, will get bigger yet...
powerhouse up to my nipples.
random pics...
dvp dutch fan leaf
powerhouse top.
we have been getting some rain recently, which is good. I always love how lush and healthy they look after a rain. Whats in the rain that makes the plants look so healthy and vibrant afterwards? minerals? because ive noticed that when i water the root zone they dont look as healthy as after a rainfall?

A happy chappie you must be DPN.I always love the size that the plants get in direct sunshine.
But it's all about the weather at the end of the season that counts.....
Fingers X'd!
my canna frog man pic :) (nearly forgot about this pic)
the knotweed (in the background) grows rampantly, ive been topping it to keep them down and thicken them up, i lose late afternoon light but thats no biggie.

this is an awesome thread, I learned alot,And the sun is amazing.your work is paying off.
nice plants dpn.
thats some big leaves on the PH!
how are you feeding them now?
my soil has had a combination of
worm castings (top dressed)
chicken shit pellets (top dressed and sometimes tea fed, 1/2 cup per gallon)
bat guano (high P)
dolomite lime
gypsum
animal free dry mix = soybean meal, rapeseed meal, kelp, rock dust, lignite.
an organic dry mix tomato feed? probably based on chicken poo, blood meal, potash etc
comfrey (dried and powdered)
nettles (same as above)
bio bizz grow
liquid kelp
molasses
Will add soon...
marestail (aka horsetail, for its high silica content, dryed and powdered)
Rock guano (see picture below)
My main feed every other watering usually consists of worm castings (a greedy) handful, chicken poo, kelp, molasses or bio bizz grow
Im noticing P deficiency in lower leaves will add guano to the mix from now on
Almost as tall as me now (6ft) :)

That garden looks very happy! I hope you have a great fall!!
thanks for the kind words chaps :) im hoping for a heavy bud rot free harvest :rollj:
its offical 3 are much taller than me now, 6 1/2 foot i reckon :) its hard to take a decent pic when you cant stand back far enough.
both my kandies turned out to be males, no kandie for me this year
3/4 of the salish x nigerian are gone, they showed full male clusters fast which gives me hope for my pretty female left, early buds :smoke3:
2/4 ss x c/k have been culled i have a kandy looking pheno so i might have a semi taste :)
did you save your kandie males for some pollen chucking?
no i usually kill the males and take clones (bonsai mums)...
will update more pics soon when i get my laptop back :)
Bud rot free, bud rot free, bud rot free! I hope the same for ya.
