I am new to the site and havent posted yet, all the threads that i have read have already been very helpful.

this is my second time attempting to grow indoors, my first attempt ended after the second week from poor care to the plant(counting on someone to help me water the plant didnt work) i am starting with nothing but seeds, a box, pH meter and relative humidity pocket tester. on my list of things i need i have jiffy pots, soil, LIGHT!!, and pane of glass for the top. i am planning on just germinating seeds in the jiffy pots under the light and then transplanting into my final container(which i dont have picked out yet).
any suggestions on lighting for a 2x1x2 box, what soil i should use, and anything else that i am forgetting.
also i have done some reasearch about moon phases and how it can affect growing, does this have an affect on indoor growing?

is that 2x1x2 box
square feet..
square meters..
other..

if its feet..you are pretty restricted..container+plant height will be limiting factors, and flo's may be the only possibilty.
welcome and good luck..
peace

For a 2mx1m footprint, your best option if you can afford it is 2 600W HID's with each one covering a 1mx1m footprint but this will require air cooled reflectors to control heat from the bulbs. At 2m high you will still have to be careful that you don't let the plants get too big or they will run out of height because the light along with the distance the plants have to be away from the light will eat up at least 300-400mm at the top and the pots or hydro buckets they are in will gobble up that much space at the bottom as well leaving you with approx. 1m of space for the plants to grow in. If you want to start slow and work up, start with one 600W and get a second one later.
