in some cases it is good to use chem feet like growmore. If you have a changing water supply the growmore does add a ph buffer. I like the combination of an appropriate type of N feet ( Urea or Ammonia based) along with a great organic program. Even at a low dose of 3/4 lbs per 100 gal can keep you ph controlled.

The real import thing is to monitor your water ph and ppm throughout the season.

ahh , the days of miracle grow and contaceptive pills , lol
brings back memories
you can't go wrong with Alaska Fish Ferilizer ( fish emulsion) 20-20-20
and in mid to late june switch to Alaska "Morebloom" 0-10-10
never had an animal do any damage because of faint smell
don't use with automatic outdoor guerrilla dripper systems as it will clog them
the only nutrient i can suggest if you want to automate your outdoor grow is Canna "Substra"

never use time release products as it holds its nitrogen levels for far too long
most miracle grow soil has time release granules in it promoting six months vegetative growth
Sunshine mix # 4, mixed with 20% soil, 30% perlite, 10% worm castings, a little blood and bone meal
and you have the equivelent of Bio Bizz "Allmix"
mix it up yourself and save almost 50%, whilst enjoying the benefits of a turbocharged soil
