There are many websites selling seeds nowdays for decent prices. My question is: What is the law on ordering seeds online and having them sent by mail in the U.S.??? Is it illegal, can you get in trouble for just ordering the seeds, or is it legal to recieve seeds through the mail. Just wondering and trying not to go to jail over a pack of seeds.

IF ,and that is a big "IF" these days ,you can find someone to send you seeds to the U.S ......MAKE SURE IT IS NOT TO YOUR GROW ADDRESS!AND NOT TO ANY REAL PERSON"S NAME.

If they get intercepted you will usually either get nothing or a letter to "John Doe" saying they have been impounded. If you follow the above rules no one is going to jail.

Oh and advise the delivery address to deny everything if the cops turn up.Just in case........eh!

May the farce be with you.:whistling:

Not sure on the facts but i have recieved seeds before for a friend from over seas and nothing happenned. He sent cash over with no other info other than order # and a return address, and another envelope so we would recognize it when it came. Sorry I don't have more info. Peace JH :joint3:

I have both sent and received seeds both in the states and between Canada and the states. No problems at all. About the only thing I have yet to try is sending herb to Canada. Within the states no problems at all. Keep in mind I make sure to pack securely and not so as to attract attention to the mailings I use a food saver and gloves and don't cross contaminate.

To-date I have not had any "complications" with seed vendors delivering to the US. But make no mistake, it is illegal and you can get tagged. Follow the 4 commandments and you *should* be safe.

Always do your home work to locate honest seed vendors

Never have seeds delivered to the grow-op location

For the truly paranoid, make orders through proxy servers or a TOR (The Onion Ring) server

Cash is always untraceable but consider using pre-paid credit cards not attached to or affiliated with your true name

If you are living in the US and order marijuana seeds online, be aware that the DEA more than likely has most of the international vendors in their databases. Although it is unlikely they will specifically target *you* it is likely that they will do their due diligence to attempt to filter the US mail as much as possible. Have that package delivered to a rentable mail box or have delivered to a canadian "friend" who is willing to forward you the goods.

Do your homework with seed vendors, check out the forums and get feed-back from others on who delivers and who does not. With international seed vendors they can easily take your money and never deliver the goods to you. Even though it is stupid on their part if they do, as their reputation and chance for future business will be diminished inversely proportional to the number of posted forum complaints that they receive.

When you place an online order, run through a proxy server or a TOR (The Onion Ring) network. This conceals the geographic location of your IP address.

Often it is wise to pay with cash, but if you want to get your order quicker, consider a pre-paid credit card that is not affiliated with your name or address. This usually gets the money into the vendor's coffers and your order out quickly.

Bottom line is this "industry" is a risky business. But if you preemptively are mindful of the flow of information that you will have to put out on the Internet then you will minimize your risk of exposure.

Once you have good quality seeds and you grow them, cloning should be the next logical step, from there you will not need to order as frequently and you can amass an army of clones.

when heaven's stairway got shut down, (they were great - canada) I first went to Dr. Chronic. The package got taken by dept of homeland security - package came with tape on it and a note saying contents had been removed. So I lost money there. Next I went to Gypsy, have made a total of 4 orders from him. Lost one - don't know what happened but perhaps got lost in the mail. Other 3 orders OK to USA.

What is the most secure way of receiving seeds via USPS other than having them sent to someone else?

Or, how do rentable mailboxes work?

Just go to a NON official place that advertises PO Boxes, and does not ask for ID,rent one and you will be fine,

Try the ethnic stores

what cannarchist said...

Also its very straightforward to knock up some ID that gives you a different name/address too if you want even more secuirty. (most po boxes in the UK, even the non registered ones, will want some form of utility bill etc with a name/address as ID) and always pick up from your PO box rather than having it forwarded. breaks the chain again. As for purchasing seeds-over here in the UK most seed merchants/grow equip merchants will happily allow you to pay cold hard cash into their account using just a reference to the order (that they issued to you when you placed the order on the phone/via hushmail etc etc) that way you are not tagging any id to the transaction either. Some will even be happy to take cash in an envelope although don't forget to insure it and send it recorder delivery (thats the method i just used to buy a bunch of feminised lowryder#2's).
