I know you need real butter but what if its salted, does that affect the extraction or just the taste?

Also what about the gold filters I keep hearing about. I get the fact that they let the tricomes through but where and how expensive are they?

The main reason is the most common usage is in "desserts" like fudge,brownies and cookies. I haven't found my self asking "where's the salt?" after eating a cookie.

Good point but also doubt i would complain about a salty Special desert.
