when do you start counting flower time?

Ok a question yesterday got me wondering when do you start counting flower?Is it from 12/12 or from the first onset of flowers?I have always started from the first onset.

i start from when i set the lite to 12/12...its the start of the bloom season.

Thanks all.I had read on another forum that 12/12 and the actual beginning of flower were different.it realy would explain why you see so many complaints about breeders flower times being off 1-3 weeks.oh well I dont pick em till they are done anyway however long that takes!Thanks yall.
