Ddoc has another vertical garden.
http://verticallimits.ca

It is 2 feet wide, 4 feet tall, and about 8 inches deep.
They are designed to hold a 1 gallon pot in each hole to be hand watered.
I learned all this in a phone call to Arista.

She did say, however, that one could drill holes in the top and bottom, and use it like a coliseum.

This is what I would like to do.

The original coliseum is big number, small plants only game.

These modular units allow larger plants, or at least it seems that way to me.
They also allow may configurations.

That's all I have right now.

The purpose of this thread is to discuss wall gardens and how they may be used.

Any coliseum users dropping by would be appreciated.

I've never used a Wall Garden but i'd be happy to discuss how they may be used. Perhaps one has the best success "walking down known paths." Why don't we start out by discussing your personal grow style and preferences. What media types have you experienced and what works for you?..how do you like to feed?..favorite plants to grow?...etc..
We can also discuss what you'd like to try and aim to have..etc.

For starters...i dont see any irrigation system or drains..wonder if its drilled for the thruhull fittings like the coli. I think a nifty feed idea would be like dripline, but one would either need to use only water or other types of fertigation that won't plug the driplines. Maybe one would rather just hand water at the sites?? It would be neat if they developed a growing manual for these.

I think it can be drilled. Seems the system is made to hand water and so you can move the plantys around. Peace GS

I am currently running ebb & flow with hydroton, floranova, and addbacks throughout the crop.

The only media I've used for full term are pro-mix, lava, hydroton, and water (bio buckets).

Methods have been drip, ebb & flow, full flow (bio buckets of course) and hand watered.

I have used rockwool for transplanting to hydroton, and I am currently using coir in an ebb and flow for mothers.

In veg, I can't really tell the difference between hydroton and coir.

Honestly I think they are all great, but promix is the worst for me.
I can't ever the watering schedule right.

The only plant I am growing right now is a 10 week sativa.
Keeping it short will be a trick, but it can be done.

We can also discuss what you'd like to try and aim to have
What do I want now?
Vertical - which I am currently trying in a table with some success
run to waste - benefits are obvious, no drawbacks, as I have plenty of house plants, tomatoes, etc. that will use the runoff.
media - something I can toss in the compost each run (or maybe run zyme through it and replant. I can throw perlite and vermiculite in my compost, as well as coir, fyto foam, etc.

For starters...i dont see any irrigation system or drains..wonder if its drilled for the thruhull fittings like the coli.

It's not drilled, and yes, it is designed to hand water.
I talked to whomever answered the phone at arista, and she said it could be drilled with similar irrigation and drain holes as a coli, and used the same way.

I was under the impression that the system was designed to be media filled and the plants planted in the beds. Is this system just an efficient "parkinglot" for one gallon pots? Is it designed not to be planted in, or is it designed as a media system..and would work both ways? I can see transplanting in a one gallon vegger as ending up a big gurl. A finished gurl grown in a one gallon pot would still be pretty big..but it would be no comparision..imo. Is there an advantage to turning the potted plants in such system?..or are we just always having one side in the shade half the time on a full sided plant??...

comments..
