Thanks to all those that contibuted genetics to this summers project! This should be a fun summer!
Some plants will be forced using tarps, the rest will be planted in remote patches on mountains sides. Growing in a hot dry location @ approx. 50degrees north!
Organic gardening is where its at! I love the smell of good organic soil!
Ive grown with both organics and non-organics, and prefer the organics for many reasons.
Feed your soil, let you soil feed your plants, you'll taste the difference!
I am using BreederStevesSpecialMix again this summer, and I love to see the fungus growth after the initial composting.........this shit smell good when mixed in with the earthwormcastings and lamashit.
I also use chicken shit teas, lama manure, earthworm castings, Bat guano (both fruit and insect eating, varieties), horse manure, rock phosphates, leonerdite, diatomatious earth, hygromite(?), dolomite lime, agricultural gypsum, glacial clay, bone meal, blood meal, canola meal, kelp meal, greensand, Pirahna (Advance Nutrient), volcanic ash.
I add SuperThrive during begining of growth, transplanting, initiating flowering, mid flower, and mildly up to flush.
I use GrowthPlus every two weeks at half strength, both foliar (when possible), and to roots!
I like to use a B-1 like Thrive Alive.
There are also many homeopathic remedies I use, including Calendula, Camomile, Stinging Nettle, Comfrey, RescueRemedy (Bachs), Willow tree, and this list is growing..........
So this year has been a battle with mice........I lost over 50seedlings to mice in one night, and a friend lost over 200 seedlings over a three week period. This is quite a set back and its disappointing to lose of a great selection of genetics, but that is life!
Pictures will come soon, but I first need to play with the photoshop to resize these pictures. The new camera takes pretty sweet photos.
Hope you all have a great summer. Thanks for stopping by, and Thanks to everyone who helped with advice and genetics on this years adventure!

So this years irrigation is going much better..........Im almost ready, but Ill explain the design now........
Im using 45mil pond liner for reservoirs, building them out of 2x4frames, with lids........out the bottom comes a 3/4inch hose into a timer, which runs off batteries, then through a filter of xxxmicrons, then reduced into 1/2 line which runs around the plants..........using 1//4inch poly line, not vinyl; to feed into an ajustable emiter which produces an upside down 6-12inch diameter spray to each plant..........and pressure reducers ever 75feet of elevation drop.............Water gets pumped up using a Honda pump, nice and quiet unit.
The timer I found today is a MELNOR Daily Electronic AquaTimer for 29.99!
Basically it opens a valve for any length of time I choose, every day. Well see how often I actually have to refill the reservior.
The 45mil pond liner runs @$0.75 per square foot.........700gallon reservoirs run about $105
The filter which will get cleaned twice a week cost $22.
Each emmiter with hose and connection runs about $1.20 per plant.
Again thanks to all thoughs that advised me to stop breaking my back hauling 10gallons of water up mountains!
Peace outdoordreams

nice line up there ODD. I am interested to see how the Early Wonder Skunks turn out. I had some in veg once before and I remember them have a strong skunk cabbagey smell to them. are you going to replicate it?
outdoordreams
06-02-2007, 01:58 PM
Hey Bram, Doesnt skunk cabbage smell like skunk?
Im also growing out a bunch of Island thai IBL I made.
I would love to replicate the Early Wonder Skunk, but only have five surviving seedlings.......so the plan is to re-evaluate the strain...........we accually grew it out a couple summers back, but the main caretaker really doesnt love his plants, and stressed them into hermaphordism and some freak growth problems with some he stressed. The surviving stock produce early, dense colas, and was sticky, very stinky, beautiful aroma, and a nice buzz from the little I actually got to smoke.
If they turn out to be good this year, Ill be stocking up on more beans and crossing into itself, and cross it with some other early outdoor strain!
nice. got many island thais going. I am doing that, salish x nigerian, and c99 outsies this year. maybe some autowarps too. can you still buy solar warrior seeds? havent seen them for sale since emery got taken down. would love to get some.

Homeopathic remedies are applied depending on the situatioin.
I add about 2-3 drops of Rescue Remedy to a 700ml spray bottle, and spray clones, mothers after cutting, stressed plants, transplants, after any real plant stressings...........pruning, broken branches ect.
The calendula I buy the raw flowers, and make a tea, cool the tea and dilute.
Use the water to make underwater clones cuttings, and also spray the wound on the mother plant. This helps heal cuts, in humans and plants.
Willow teas, for increased rooting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comfrey as a tea for flowing plants, and stressed plants.
Camomile as a tea for all stages of growth, general immune aid.
Stinging nettle uses as companion planing or add teas to plants, to increase resin, and terpine production.
This list will increase as soon as I learn more. Much to experiment with this summer!
Hey C-ray, are you saying they will be running out of Early WonderSkunk seeds? Id like to put a few away for future projects.
Bram, when does the Cindy finish outside. Id like to try her outdoors if she works. Her description reminds me of CandyCane?hmmmmmmm

Ii'll save some Early Bramble F5 pollen for it.
'Stinging nettle uses as companion planting or add teas to plants, to increase resin, and terpine production.' ........ interesting i will test that on my ladies.
ive got comfrey and nettles growing wild every where, so you just simmer the leaves or flowers and dilute the tea accordingly... say a handful of young tops per gallon?
outdoordreams
06-04-2007, 07:31 PM
Sounds about right............I actually dont heat teas, most are just soaked in water for 1-10days...........Once I use the tea, I refill the tea bucket with more water and use again, again until you feel there is nothing left.
Maybe I should test to see the difference between boiled teas and unboiled.
Anybody have any thoughts on this subject?
Cannarchist, Early Bramle F5 pollen would be great to hit the Early Wonder Skunk with..............Ill try saving mother plants on my five babies, but hope to grow out more numbers next year..............Maybe Bram will find a keeper to use. Ill also save the best of the Fstrain we are working with this summer
and cross it with EWS, and hopefully hit it with Early Bramble pollen as well.

Will be trying to make some tea myself this year

OK, I'll be checking in on this thread. Nice lineup, ODD! Wow! I guess you'll be covering your plants again this year. It must be worth it for the dank in the end though.
Speaking of EWS, I'm trying a cross of that strain this year. Imsmokingmyroach sent me some "Master Wonder Skunk" which is EWS x Master Low. He also made EWS x [GG x (EG x MM)] using my GG x (EGxMM). Hehe, I wish he would have sent me that one instead. Still, the Master Wonder Skunk should be interesting...

But I had a scary day last week. When for the first time in my life a bear snuck up on me. Ive crossed many paths with bears, but never had one sneak up on me. It was a four foot black bear, guessing its the same four foot black bear that was being aggressive with the neighbours dogs the day before, I toke off down the mountain in a slow hurry!
Ill be looking for the Nommo pheno. Now thats a different fish.

We had a cougar sneak up on us last year/./.

the black bears are not to bad but what about the grizz?
we come in peace, do you have a bong?
Lungus
06-29-2007, 04:47 AM
The problem with black bears is, even though they attack less often than grizzly's, is that they are more likely to kill the victim than a grizzly if they commit themselves to an attack. A grizzly is more likely to charge you swat you around a bit and when it figures out your harmless leave you alone and carry on with it's day.
Lungus
06-29-2007, 04:52 AM
Mind you being "swatted around a bit" by a grizzly can leave you with multiple broken bones, your scalp torn off, and a hundred other injuries.

Thanks Bram, I needed that...........I feel bad for no more updates, but without pictures to post its just not the same! I promise you the pictures are better this year, and will be worth the wait.
The update is, the neighbours "F" strain, is rocking the hillside........Im very impressed!
The boy patch is growing nicely, weve already started thinning out the male selections.........and are waiting a few more weeks to remove the male Africans from the tarp patches................Weve got a Sweetskunk/Congo/Kandahar male that stinks like sweetskunk at about 2 weeks into flower!!!!
The Early Wonder Skunk males are selected down to 2, and the female is a small bush just starting to bud now, the early early female is almost ready for harvest, at about 5-6inches, she stinks something good, should get almost two fatties from her!!!!!hahaha
A highend male has been selected for its super stout structure and smells of blueberry in veg!
Blockhead are getting big with no males showing to date...........
Im still being stocked by the bear, it even ripped up a patch of buckets and bags we burried in the mountain side........its ok because weve decided not to use that patch this year. But he is keeping me on my toes!
Finally having some rainy weather, after weeks of beautiful sunshine, and temperatures reaching the high 30s...........The plants are loving it!
More problems with the partners...........I cant stress enough how important to pick solid partners if you are going to partner up............Dont team up with friends or family! Dont partner with anyone who looks at this plant as a money tree!
Questions for you all!.............
Im having alot of humidity in the tarp areas in the morning and when I fold back the tarp the wet tarp gets bunched up and never really dries out, any ideas or suggestions?
Albi, Ive read parts of the secret flower of life! Major connections with all plants, this Dogon is looking special, both girls and boys!!!!! When you look at plants and trees, do you see Pi? Welcome to the forth dimension!

Hey ODD are you leaving the tarps on all night? If so C-ray suggests tarping in the evening then taking the tarp off when its dark. Less humidity is trapped this way and you don't have to be there first thing every morning. Sorry if this info is redundant. Peace GS

This week has been busy with cutting trees and branches to expose the fall sun to the ladies!!! Gotta make use of that free energy!!!
Astologically yesterday and today are best to prune plants! So everything got its pruning yesterday. Cutting out all the small inner branches helps the plant focus energy on the main buds!!!! Also makes trimming easier!!!!
This week we tried a new cloning technique. After re-reading Robert Clarkes book, I decided to try etoliating the plants before taking the cutting. Basically I wrapped a peice of dark cloth around the stem, and wrapped it with tape, right where I will take the cutting from next week.
Added to this new technique Ive started cutting off the extra leaves now instead of on cloning day........Hoping to reduce stress...........
Now a couple of days before the cloning Im planning on using a syringe to add rooting hormone under the cloth, and also foliar feeding Growth Plus. Day of cloning the clones will be takin at dusk and left in the dark for the night, again hoping to reduce shock.
Also Willow tree and calendula tea will be added to the presoak of cubes or peat pucks!
Ill let you all know how this technique works!!!
Why all the trouble? Ive been having really bad success with clones as of late. Its hard cloning in the bush with temperatures in the high 30. And I really want these clones to survive, and I can only take a couple clones per plant, so they have to count.
Any advice on the above is very welcome!!!!!!
Time to party this weekend, enjoy some mushroom tea, some pot brownies and some locally brewed beers, the whole time enjoying live music preformed by friends! Peace and love outdoordreams!!!!!(Im excited ehhh!!!!!!!)

Echinechia, Camomile, Catnip, Lavander, Calendula, St. Johns Wart, Comfrey, Stinging nettle, and a couple other herbs I forget the names of.

chamomile in humans is very good for calming the digestive tract, in biodynamics the chamomile prep is used in composting, primarly to stimulate the digestion of the soil, helps to stimulate the microbes that reduce foul aromas (ammonia etc)..a chamomile foliar spray is good for transplant shock and other shocks like cloning
I've read that yarrow is supposed to be good for stimulating terpene production

Unshelled Hemp seeds are illegal in northamerica and can not be purchased in stores.
Private sources only!
DPN, Hey buddy! I use the whole camomile plant! Flowers only will do fine!
Stinging Nettle as a companion plant will increase resin and terpene production. So I use it as a tea cause Im hoping it has some influence. (No evidence, just theory)
Like Camomile, Calendula will help heal cuts, when used as a foliar spray. Again Im using both in the tea hoping to benefit. (No evidence, just theory)
Comfrey like Camomile when used as a tea will help break down compost, and dead roots.
St. Johns Wart is an amazing medicinal plant, and agian Im hoping it benefits are available through the tea.
Echinechia boosts the human immune system, why not in plants?
Lavendar, Camomile, ST.Johns Wart, and Catnip are all relaxants and should have some effect on the plants. How Im not sure, but I think I will notice some of the effect in the next few years as I study this area more!
C-ray, Ive actually got Yarrow growing out back!!!!!!Tommorow!

Found two Island thai males!!!! I thought Id killed them all, but deep in the woods in a small underwatered patch there they were! Thank goodness I didnt, because this is really a very intersting strain! Drought resistant is for sure! Island thai x Wattykush!!!!
A friend found a potent, early august finishing Strain!!!! I hope he keeps it alive!!!!! Found in a large seed selection!
Timebomb is over 8feet now!
Things are just begging to flower now, some more so than others, but its going to be a late harvest that is for sure!
Peace outdoordreams

Wow, Yarrow tea is strong! I found lots of white Yarrow growing naturally in the valley, and found some Pink, Purple, and Yellow garden varieties. Im using the White because its growing naturally in the dry valley!
I drank a glass of tea, same reciepe Im feeding the plants, and I was so full of energy yesterday, I could hardly get to sleep.
SCBB, sounds great. Should be good medicine!

Hey if you ever have snell or slug problems try a loop of copper wire around the stem on the ground. They won`t cross copper! Some slug and snell goo have copper sulfate in it. Just make sure the loop is big enough not to get tight on the stem as it grows!

The update will come soon, Ive got lots of veg shots, and a very few bud shots............I will be doing more dry bud shots next week with a photography friend, and will post all pictures within the month.(that my new goal)
This fall was very cloudy and resulted in slow growth. Some strains still produced well, others didnt. The biggest was a Blockhead which yeilded 19oz.
Full update to come...........Stop by in December for an update.
Peace outdoordreams

EarlyWonderSkunk............I only had one female, but she looked better than she smoked, she took a long time in flowering, was sticky but not potent, smelled great, but lost its smell.
She yeilded well, I cant remember if it was 6 or 8 oz......not bad for a small plant........

mmmm pineapple yummm.... how did your Island thais turn out thisyear?
outdoordreams
12-02-2007, 09:29 PM
The island thai were all started from seed around the begging of JULY!
All finished by mid october, very uniform genetics. They all are fairly resinous, but not killer, I think when I make the Island thai honeyoil it will be something fine! Oz's look like 2 oz's! Great Bong weed!
The purplepineberry x island thai really puts me in a great headspace!
Cant wait to germinate the Islandthai x Watty kush!
Ive also got a load of Island thai seeds.............more than I need!!!

Yeah, the stone from all the timebomb phenos are nice...........wish we had a better fall!
A couple side notes to add to this thread...........
This year I did much less training of plants, and less Supercropping.
I think outdoors those techniques may hurt the yeild.
Indoors I think its great to save space and reduce plant numbers......
But outdoors, the plants left alone, found their own space, and developed according to their enviroment. While the plants that where supercropped......seemed to crowd themselves!
Watch the PH of the creek, cause it changes during the season.
Mine climbed to 8.5..........quite high......
Powdery Mildew was not a big problem, but what I did have, LEMON JUICE worked very well...............I still lost a few plants, but most infected stuff was good after one or two applications......
Genetics are the most important part of the grow!!!!!!!
Thanks again to all that helped with this years genetics.
There are far to many contibutors to name, but you all know who you are.
Summer 08 should be fun........with even more genetics.
We are putting together a massive selection of outdoor genetics.
Also collecting all the elite indoor strains we can get our hands on, and tarping them to perfection for the TIN CAN COLLECTION.
So collect all your clones and mail them to ODD @ GreenSantasWorkshop.

you want to be carefull topping outside usually one or two tops and thats it if you have a drop off season then a prolonged flowering period is not good .,.,
wonderful shots as usual !! thanks!!!
Beautiful plant locations! Makes me want to roll out the sleeping bag, and take a nap under those ladies. Stunning!
