Hypronic system 2 weeks off harvest many of the buds have a grey mould which i think is botrytis. i sprayed with a potassium soap then 2 days later with plain water they seem to be worse- anyone have any ideas please!!!!! Are they salvagable - should i harvest early? should i try to cut out infected areas (difficult at this stage)

You must cut it out or harvest immediately! This will spread everywhere there is density. The humidity must be below 55% to insure no mold. By the time you can see it, it has already eaten the entire inside of the buds. I would cut open all the colas you see it on, as they are probably trash.
Do not smoke the moldy buds! THROW THEM AWAY!
At this point I would begin emergency flushing the rest of the ladies and harvest within 3-4 days. Sorry bro, we all have to learn this lesson. I did too, the hard way! Good Luck!

Moldy buds can be processed through water extraction with some success. Sorry to hear of your problem ,better luck next time. Peace GS

In everyone's opinion, this is safe? To use the buds with botrytis? I am not sure I would want to be smoking that bubble!

Mold is one of the few things that can be removed through water extraction. The spores float and are thrown out with the plant material. Would be cool if it removed sulphur, but it doesn't. I have thrown out several garbage bags of material that people told me had no sulphur. The unfortunate thing with sulphur is it gets on your bags and they are toast.
Honestly Irie1 are you gonna say if the shoe was on your foot you wouldn't even try. You can't win if you don't play. Good luck seaweed. Peace GS

I have had this problem several times, and yes I tossed it. Once I made hash oil out of it, as the butane seems to only remove the good parts. My main concern is not against the mold spores, but the rotten plant material on the insides.
Any thoughts?

You cut out the nasty rotten stuff. Just giving a viable use for the rest. Oil hmmm I asked a few oil people about that. They all told me the mold carries over into the oil. Waste not and all that...Peace GS

Had same problem but couldn't harvest was time to bulk up the plants, spent money and got dehumidifier cut out all bad spots and was lucky . That humidity has to stay down and the dehumidifier sure helped and changed my grows to the better after that.Money well spent.
