Boy these integrated webcams sure don't do this run justice, the diesels are about 40" tall above the 3 gallon pots, the blockies are nice 2.5 foot indica dom monsters. Each strain under a 600 watt HPS, there are 9 blockies and 7 diesels, pretty much what I had at the time but and vegged for ever, now 2.5 weeks in. Pure coco, royal gold brand that is cheap local and I use canna coco nutes - they made me a believer in hydro with the last run, 17 oz of amazing diesel from one light - supplemented with 1-2 mils a gallon of OGB and some bio enzyme. The canna is a 2 part formula and you add equal proportions, diesel likes about 55 mils each A/B and blockie wants at least 65 each A/B so I have seperate 30 gallon tubs each feeding through 1 gph drippers, which by the way work perfect on the diesel but clogged up with the blockies? WTF? anyways, it's on. check it.

Hey, I used Canna Coco A and B for my cocos hydro grow. It was Buddah's sister and everyone loved it, except me.
The weed was great it's just that it was missing the indica feel I love so much. Coco's is fantastic for the taste of bud and now I know for sure what I'm using for my next grow.
Can you use coco's for mother plants?

yo zero, coco works great for everything! It is way cleaner than soil, light, and like rockwool it can be almost dry and the plant will not wilt. But you can also soak it, and it still has like 20% oxygen content! I cannnot recommend any other nutes though, canna coco is so simple it is ridiculous.
One thing - wet the coco before you pot it up, it is hard as hell to get it wet to start with. Like a no good woman. haha

A wetting agent like dish soap might help the medium soak more easily. It helps to break surface tension. Peace GS

Dish Soap isn't bad for the plant?
Yeah Canna nutes where easy as hell. Equal parth of A and B and the countainer had a nifty measuring thing~o at the top.
I was doing a ph of about 5.6 and an EC reading of 1.8 but lowered the EC as I think I was getting a little nute burn. Couldn't tell really but all the leaves where yellowing a bit so I flusehd a day or two and lowered the EC and they still yellowed but not as fast as they where.
Sound like I did the right thing?
Also I got some spotting on some leaves and not from splashing nute water on them, learned that the hard way already.......

Do you use cocos Canna nutes for both cycles? I did but I though it was too simple really............. It was only my secong attempt though. Number three will be in a couple months.
Can I use Canna nutes on a mother plant in coco's?
What EC reading and PH should I have for that?

nice shots, the plants look healthy in that the leaves are reaching for the sky and waving "hello!"
dish soap is fine but use only a drop or two and use a very mild type like ivory.
leaf yellowing is generally not a sign of over fert but could indicate not enough oxygen to the rootzone ie. overwatering in the case of soil or coir. In dwc I've seen leaf yellowing when the rez was too warm or had other issues with lack of oxygen like bubblers stopping working.

dish soap is high in phosphates, most types anyways

soil seems to get packed down with watering , which would not let the oxygen pass to the root system sufficiently. are there any other ways to get looser soil , or make the soil nice and loose to begin with.

aahh, parabola, good to here from you, thank you for the reply. i figured that was probably a good thing. but i guess i was hoping for a instant "super fix" . is there anything i can do to loosen up the soil in the mean time? i will surely get the mix right on the next run. again- thanks..

justcurious, let's take it to another thread or pm's so we don't highjack this thread to fubar status on Cannafornia.
Love to see more shots when you got em cannafornia. I am interested in doing coir in the future so your input is aprecciated.

26 days! and I just found my room isn't perfectly lightproof dammit but it doesn't seem to be affecting anything. That will be fixed tonight.
First two pics are blockhead, second pair is the (sour?) diesel and last shot is side-on showing height difference between the two varieties. Diesel really is insane how much it stretches but oh, the shrimp!
Reason I question the sour in my diesel is that it stretches so freaking much but it puts out huge colas and grows identical to og kush. And hey, check it the webcam shots look better eh?

looking good cannafornia  . it'll be interesting to hear what you think of the blockheads vs the sour diesel in regards to your percieved potency... or have you already had a chance to compare?

Hey vapor, I'm excited to have an indica coming up, the diesel has been all I've been doing for a while now. The BH is bound to be stony and flavorful, that's all I know for now. it is looking really leafy so far, but everything is so covered in goo it's insane. Not a nutes issue, wish i had a high rez digicam.
You're killing me, Diesel! (any Arrested Development fans? no? ok) Tonight I had to reconfigure the pvc fram and heighten one light about 8 inches because the SD plants are well over a meter tall, even after FIM tekking the bitches. pics soon, they buds are stacking up really nice at a month in.
Thanks for the interest, check up ! peace

Weekend update: here's a few pics showing how dramatically the diesel outgrew the blockhead. They show the reconfigured pvc frame, that was a balancing act for sure to fix that. I was standing on my tip toes reaching over with a hacksaw trying not to fall on my plants.
I am posting more up close shots in the budshots forum, so check it! peace!

Well this seems to be the end of the road . . . Very happy with this run. Blockhead is definitely a keeper, and my first try with one of breeder Steve's varieties. You can see how chunked out the buds became, despite looking like all leaf for the first month just about! Totally covered in goo, straight trikes that look like they would make great bubble and the most intense sour grape candy smell ever.
I never believed it before, but this is also a real deal 50 day plant. It looked dead ripe at 50 but i want the most knock-down, dragout stone available.
Diesel is doing great and has a little while to go, 70 days to perfection.
Thanks for watching, the show continues in the budshots forum with harvest and evaluation soon!

Thanks for all the great Pics Cannafornia!
Just rooted some Blockhead cuts from a friend on the east coast.
I've heard good things about it and all the Pictures I have seen so far make it look tasty!
Nice grow set-up BTW. Far better than my little closet grow!

Great looking grow! Can you use the coco husk chips instead of perilite for a similar result? I know some guys were growing citrus trees in peat with the husks and I never found out how the coir with husk chips compared, will have to see.

hey CF,
Nice setup :)
Where did you get the BH from? Was it a recent order? I ask because as far as I know, there are no F1s left. Kootany has suggested he is going to make F2s, but last I heard Steve was sitting on his hands (he as hundreds more BH F1s). Has anything changed?
I also have BH going, the last of my old stock. I stared 5 seeds last month. 4 sprouted but 2 were male and one female as a runt. The runt was culled. And my stupid dog ate the only male BH I think is worth a darn! :( However, I have grown BH lots of times and the single mom I have it going to be great I think. So far she's showing the same pheno as my old 'standout' (aka "elite") BH mom.
BTW, does your BH have the P19 pheno expression? (finger crossed!)
Do you have any BH males?...Maybe a lil trade of pollen? PM me if you want ;)
welcome! :)
