I have come to the conlusion my soil has too much built up nutes (edges of leaves curling up and leaf pointing downward), they have never been wet for more than 24hrs, and have never wilted down, so my ml.'s of liquid to a gallon of sunshine #4 are dead on, but after 16 days of veg. there is too much build up for the plant?(I don't know the name, new plant to me second use very finicky)
Should I just PLAIN WATER my usual amount daily for 5-8ish days till they come back around, or flush w/ 1000ppm now and have them sit soaked for 2-3 days?
ps. Been feeding about 1000ppm every 3rd day for 11days.

If your sure your problem is overfeeding, then waiting for the media to dry out to flush/lower the ec will only make things worse. EC climbs in media by evaporation in the media, and transpiration of water by the plant. Drying it out will only make it worse. The best way to judge the EC of the media is to check the runoff water.
So, lets say we take a gallon of your ferts, at 1000ppm, set it window ledge for a few days, half of it evaporates. Just the water evaporated mind you, not the salt. What do you suppose the ppm would be? Think in the same terms for your media.
ps. Been feeding about 1000ppm every 3rd day for 11days.
This is a dead giveaway. if you have not had runoff..and your media needed that moisture, do you suppose that your plants would have eaten all that food? Waiting to fix a problem, will only make it worse. Plan ahead, as your plants biofeedback routine takes time to adjust. Goodluck and welcome to C.W.
peace:)
ps..what size are your containers/plants? How much are you watering? just wondering about the three day feeding frequency in a peatmix blend.

If they were in containers and I was you I would put them in a tub or large sink and run pure water through them until it begins to run out the bottom clear again. This should not cause a problem, but will wash excess salts from your medium.. Peace GS

Thanks for the response, I am in one gallon pots using Sunshine #4. I am on troffs(sp?) so flushing to rinse is not a problem. I just didn't know what would be more detrimentle, too much nutes or sogging the root zone (which would cause other problems taking all the oxygen)
I've never had run-off, as I was trying to keep the oxygen in the pots up by NOT overwatering. So they'd only see 300-400ml's of nute solution or water depending on the day every 24hrs. What I didn't realize was how fast the nute solution would build up in the pot. These plants don't seem to like anything like what I'm used too, any other plant I've used in the past takes it like a champ.
But I've always overwatered (48hrs between pots dry) my whole life, and I'm trying to change.............I really am.
While I'm here, Should I flush w/ plain water then add a mild nute solution rioght away, or wait for the pots to dry out THEN start feeding again?
Thanks again

I don't think of flushing as detrimental with pure water and this is only one time. I would say adding nutes after flush is no problem. I'd wait long enough so they dry to the point were the nutes will be absorbed by the medium. This way you nutes aren't flowing to waste. Seems your problem might be salt build up so once the excess salts are removed, your problem should disappear. That is until you get those salts built up again. Good luck. Peace GS

Well my goal now will be treat the plants like it's there first time and be all gentle like. During 12/12 I was going to do the 1/3 strength lucas formula (0-8-16). But now I'm prolly gonna go w/ full strength 0-8-16 and water for 5 days after.
Thanks GS and ND, been most helpful.

Compared to others in here, I don't know much but if there is one thing that I do know, its that nutes taste like SHIT, so I flush, and flush, and then flush away, when I got em going for at least the last week or more.
Some say you can't tell the difference, but I sure can. Had two different kinds recently......one that tastes GREAT, smoked awesome and was an extreme high, but the other.....though hyped up, tasted smoky like nutes and paled in comparison to the other's high. FLUSH FLUSH FLUSH & FLUSH AGAIN.
OR
Flush flush flush your pot
For the entire last week
Or you will have yucky tasting
