I went to the local hydro store, apparently the Testr 2 has been discontinued, a customer was in earlier who has owned one for 15 years...so they are pretty solid

I was looking at the 'stick' type of pH probe..can't remember the name of it... Blue something ?? looks pretty solid

I think your referrring to bluelab.http://hydrodynamicsintl.com/phconductivity.html
I don't have the pH stick, but luv my ppm stick from bluelab, and it uses everyday AA batteries, not the watch type, though i have not changed my batteries in my stick yet. I have a red hana pH pen, that ive had the last couple of years, and before i had a couple of the yellow hanna champs, but the electodes broke, and were non-replaceable, crap imo.
Since dtw, I really only check pH at cloning to set up the cloning media, and from there on in my pen sits on the shelf. No more adding up and down, an easier way of life.
