Optimal bucket spacing

I am new to 5 gallon buckets, will probably be going ebb/flow style. I will be using 2 1000 watt air cooled cool sun reflectors.

What is the Optimal bucket spacing I will veg outside this system for 2 weeks.

I'll throw down 1 vote for 'no space'. All the buckets touching:) Prune the lower branches as needed.

Put several feet of flexible hose between buckets so the spacing can be adjusted a bit by bending the hose.

^^ i'll second that. the best spacing is variable. they should be close together to maximise light exposure when smaller, and have the ability to be moved further apart as needed.
