I'd like to try a grow with many, many led's, maybe in about 5 years it will be affordable, I've been waiting 5 years already...wonder what cfl's will be like in 5 years

Need to build wall and ceiling panels out of an array of 1000s of LEDs. That'd be wicked. Peace GS
240 lumens per amp?
1000 watt @ 240v = 5 A. and 100,000 lumens....
420 amps for equal LED light?
Even at 120v, 210 A..
Think I'll stick with HID's......

I think led's are DC, so the numbers don't cross over
and also they are low heat so they can be placed right next to a leaf, imagine flexible led frames that attach to plants

There are AC LEDs also. I see them in Xmas lights this year. Peace GS

240 Lumens at 1 amp is not so good. That is a huge draw!
An office is about 200-300 Lumens.

but 1 amp at 1-3 volts is only 1-3 watts.
