Nice setup

Normal thing that ph goes up and down in this system but 7.2(!)
Mabe you dont have any problems. I used CO2 tablets to lower mine extremes.

Exept the foam.......

How long into flowering?
What kind of nutes?
Whats the ppm?
Water quality. RO?

I would guess clean everything and refill.

right...more info...

1 week into veg...lol
floranova nutes
1150 ppm
tap water...7.2ph, 140ppm

before putting plants in I ran a STRONG h202 solution through the system, all was cool for one week...

First time in the system, eh?

Hmmmmmm...

How big res?
How many plants?

Also calibrate your ph-measurer(very important) LOL

alright, guys...I have major nerve probs in my hands and can't type much... so for now just trust me that I've taken care of the basics EXCEPT possible light leaks in the tubs and I'm using tap water <<never been a prob before, but don't wanna rule it out.... Can anybody answer these Q's...

*What will cause foaming in the res?

*What will cause the ph to spike up without relent?

*Does this sound like algae?

BTW light brown slime has started to form in the res

have you just turned on you heat recently?
Mabe the extra dust from your heater is blown around with out you seeing it ,andi s contaminating.. try changing filter on your heater.
OR dust from your area from the enviorment? its hard to see dust in the air.
Where i used to live years ago , was near the prairy winds would kick up and even with doors and windows closed i had to dust often.

are you covering rez?

You have the start of root rot, and bacteria growing in your res. You need to H202 asap with 4ml/gallon. Then 1ml/ gallon for atleast the next 2 weeks.

35% h202

Hard to pinpoint a problem like that, but sounds like;
a.) Dirty pots/tables/equipment that should have been bleached and after a few days (week) the residues are contributing to contamination,
or b.) Excess air pump action causing the frothing/loss of certain nutrient elements from your solution.

Problem solver <I want my prize> :)

You have algae. Plain and simple. Algae will scarf up your O2 and leave your water needing more and more pH down and air stones. As the bacteria feed they are producing gas which is causing your foam.

Solution: Chances are high that you have a light leak in your rez tub. Cover that thing and dont just rely on painting it (I have painted some that later ended up NOT being light proof). Cover the rez with trash bags or panda paper. Make sure it's LIGHT TIGHT.

Second - clean the hell outta the rez with hot water. Make sure there is no residue left.

Third - clean your net pots or medium IF you can.

Fourth - you stated your rez is outside of your grow room, this leads me to believe you have a separate rez for each plant and also have tubing connecting them. Make SURE all of that is LIGHT TIGHT.

Fifth - check the roots of your grow. If brown, cut off what you can, wash the rest and pray.

Six - refill rez with water/nutes and 5ml/gallon 3% hydrogen peroxide.

Seven - rest, as God would have wanted.

sounds like alage to me , i had a bad case of root rot last grow and it kept driving my ph up to 7.8 no matter how much ph down i used and i never once had foam , his rez temp are to low to cuz root rot if it where me i would get some window wrap from home depot or lowes or better if you know a carpenter get some from him and wrap the rez with it its total light proof. i got mine of the new homes i worked on the. carpenter all ways leave scraps of it on the job site most of them are cool so if you dont know any just got to a job site and ask one they will be glad to give ya all you want. has worked great on my SWC. and i think after a good cleaning i would add some protekti it suspose to help with high rez temp and some hydrogen peroxide's as well. and add some RO or rain water instead of the tap water i use tap my self with a ppm of 30 and ph of 6.8 but my ph all ways go to 7.2 no matter what i do i normaly use rain water but has not rain here in a wile so i am out so stuck with tap for now.
