I found this article and I ask the Question, Did Barry Goldwater leave the Republican party or did the Republican party leave him behind?
I beg this question because when I was a Republican, my beliefs were more on line with Berry Goldwater's. It would seem to me that now days the parties have changed places in that respect. Example, the Federal Government (i.e. The Republicans) has taken on the policies of the old democrats of strong central governmental control over the states.
Where as the Democrats have taken on policies more on line with Barry Goldwater. Barry Goldwater was for human rights, equal rights, less government and upholding the Constitution.
What happened to the Barry Goldwater Republicans?
