well, guess someone needs to open this forum...I've been growin for about 5 years now and have gotten rather fond of growing indoors...no issues with mother nature but certianly have issues with heat, bugs, and power consumption...anyone who's grown indoors please chime in so we can help the others establish a reliable and easy grow that provides pain relief and a nice buzz at the same time...all from about 4 square feet of spare space...gotta love it 'eh...

hey there boo...

due to your limited amount of space, you have several options...

- lighting in that amount of space (4' x 4') has to be done carefully..... when working in that small amount of room, heat becomes an issue, so this question is like a riddle in a way... because if you pick one kind of light (1k for example) then that will change how your whole setup needs to be done...

- the higher wattage of your light, the better your ventilation will have to be. IMHO, run an exhaust that is inline... and draw air from outside the room, through the hoods (air cooled hoods), and back out the room. Now just cause you vent like this, doesn't mean it will stay cool, as you will need some sort of a/c unit, whether it be a window unit or a portable unit that exhausts through a dryer hose...... not to mention if smell is a concern in your situation- you willl need to make or hook up a carbon scrubber ...

- this basically has to be done with all wattage of lamps... but reduction in motor size in inline blowers will/can be reduced aswell.. aswell as a small a/c window unit... not to mention a smaller electricity bill...

NOW FOR THE STYLE OF GROWING

- i wouldn't recommend doing hydro/DWC when you are having issues with temperature problems.... that water/nute mix needs to stay less than about 75 or so... or your roots will start to cook... so if you can't keep the room temp around there... you will run into problems...

- SCROG (SCReen Of Green)- would be a nice choice in that room size- which entails taking cuttings and when they root- you veg for a couple days and immediately switch to flower... so your final product/plant will just be one large cola with no side chutes (branches) coming off.. that way you can maximize your yield with side by side plants... BUT, if you are worried about plant #'s in your place... probably not the way to grow..

anyways.. this is just a touch on the subject... good luck...

Hey worms,

It may be that booboy meant 2' x 2' when he wrote 4 sq. ft.

Best,

ahh ok

even then... with that small of a space SCROG would be even better ;) ... all still applies

Hey Boo - You still in the swamp?

My flower cabinet is about 3 sq. feet. Great for personal head stash. 400w of HPS and a Dayton blower = perfect conditions. The space fits 2-3 5 gal. buckets.

BOO - how many grow cycles have you completed over the past 5 years?
Do you have a separate mum/veg area and the 4sf for flowering?
Building a 5.5sf cab now and will use a 400w providing 70wpsf. Veg / mums separate, want to have this cab on continuous 12/12 and feed it when plants are ready, with a number cycling through, e.g. modular. How many watts you throwing?
