What to expect.

I popped 7, 6 year old AK47 x NL, 5 beautiful males and two runts, I tossed the runts in my veggy garden................next to each other, one was male about 12" the female is now 10" high and seeded under 4 hours of light aday.

Anyone ever mate runts and grow out offspring?

I will say one thing, the high of this combination is a heavy hitter, 44 degrees last night, first frost usually around 1-2 week of october

I would think crossing 2 runts would give a large % of runt offspring.

Hort, thanks for chiming in, yea......thats what I was afraid someone might say..............The seeds I have are getting older and older 6 yrs, out of last 17 germed 3 damp off 12 normal males and a runt male and 1 runt female, not very good luck so far

Let us know what you find but I would think that vigor should probably be the number one or two priority for seed production.

Yes Suzy, but all the males is what puzzles me, I have about 40 seeds left of the cross Joey weed AK47 F2 x NL (f1), wifey wants me to put her outdoor Sago palms in a cabinet this winter.......so I get to fire up the cabinet again..(been shutdown because of teens)........I'm sure some meds will find there way in there

Thanks for your response

Well it suck but that might just be odds. You ever go to AC, LV, or FW and walk past a roulette table that had the last 15 spins come out red? Sometimes it happens in a small sample like that. It evens out over the long run.

Some belive that moon phases and environmental factors can influence sex at the seedling stage. There are also genetic reasons why you might get a high ratio of males or hermies. How long has it been? Maybe some of those males will hermy on you?

Either way goodluck. I hope you get something special out of those. I would use all the healthy males with your one female though. Increase the odds of getting the best male traits into your next generation.

so were entering the end of september, first frost in our area expected between Oct 4-8th, would you allow her to go as far as she can, or should I pull her before first frost? I think seeds were germed last week of june

If you are after seeds, pop a few out of the pods to see how ripe they are. If you are after smoke, watch the weather reports and if frost is a commin', chop her. My 2

maybe some micro growers would want a good runt for their grow. let the breeding begin!
