View Full Version : "Naturalizing"

I've always wondered if it's possible to "naturalize" an area by planting it and letting the area reseed itself. You know, to get a permant MJ crop to grow there. It seems like MJ is a natural plant in much of the world, so why not help turn it back into a naturally growing weed again?
Couldn't we just do the Johnny Appleseed thing here & there with whatever seed we have to spare and over time she'd take off again? I'm sure many of us have piles of seed which you don't really need or don't plan to grow out, from breeding experiments (or mistakes) or we could actually let some plants go to seed just for the purpose this purpose. Maybe that's the easiest way to win this "war", let the plant fight rather than us?
Any comments and/or advice? Wonder how to decide which strains to plant where? Sativas in the south & indicas in the north....or whatever you have to spare wherever you happen to be! :)

Just start planting and let it go from there.....
Wonder how far pollen can travel? Could be a bummer to find out the hard way. It is a nice thought though.

I hear ya!! LOL
Wasn't planning on planting them around here...that could ruin the local economy, if you know what I mean. ;)
Acutally, I was thinking about somewhere warmer and sunnier where there would be a better chance of it thriving. Maybe like some of the recently logged land you see along the interstate in southern Georgia heading towards Florida. Figure that would give me a good reason to go fishing in the Gulf each fall. I dunno if I'll ever do it, but that's always on my mind as the miles of vacant land zipp by as I travel around here & there. Wouldn't you just love to take a little pitstop to check the trailer (or take a leak, etc) and see a field full of buds scattered in between the little pines. Would you have the balls to check it out better, or would you be too nervous??

Would be awesome to get a hash strain to litter the hills with.......even if they dont bud well the hash would be freeeeeeeeeeeeeee......
Balls, hell no. I'd be afraid someone had claimed it. Around here, if you see something big, you get the hell out as fast and as quiet as possible. If you've ever come upon a small tent city, its something you don't want to do again:hide: .
It is a nice field of dreams though:teeth: .
And on an even brighter note, might keep the choppers and National Guard busy.

They will definitely reseed themselves or more aptly resow themselves. You need only look as far as the posts of Greens and Cannachrist to see that those buggers will survive the Canadian winters and pop up. In regards to the thc potential, it would definitely be an experiment.

or you could carefully plant them in planters down Main Street like the one in North Carolina :D

oh, it was some newspaper article posted here about a plant growing right in front of the court house or something for a long time before someone noticed it. :D You should look it up, it was a funny story. :teeth:

Thats funny I come across this thread tonight, a friend and I were just talking about the old Johnny Appleseed method... Perhaps we should start a movement, everywhere from main st. to whatever mountains are close.
