Not sure if I would trust it,, from what I know the 4 x 8 panels of extruded foam insulation (the pink and blue sheets you see being put on new houses) do a fine job

Seeing how it is ceramic based it might be helpful...to the best of my understanding the only way to beat FLIR is with ceramic. You have to stop heat and the IR spectrum, ceramics do both.

I don't know about that ceramic powder that you add to paint. Sounds a bit hokey to me. I'll wait till Benjamin Moore begins selling it or Consumer Reports says it great.

I used the foil backed foam board to line my growroom with, it's just as cheap as the blue & pink stuff and the foil has to help with IR.

Btw, I use the ceramic insulation blanket (Fiber Frax) and the super high temp graphite felt around my studio. Both are incredible. You can hold it in your hand while torching the hell out of it, it gets cherry red on the hot face while the other side is cool. We (glassblowers) insulate our ovens and furnaces with the Frax, it works up to about 2800 deg f. The graphite felt's rating is over 5000 f !

There is a product called Poly+Shield.Reviewed in one of the last few Cannabis Culture mags.White and black poly with the magical inner layer that does not allow FLIR to work.Sorry I don't have a fancy link.I'm not a computer guy.I hear they may have it at Pacific Northwest Garden Supply in Vancouver.Supposed to be stronger than regular poly and lasts longer.Rumored at about $227/roll.If your building your house use it as vapor barrier and do the whole house.Peace GS

what does Flir look for heat.............

What are normal heat sources?
Furnace, Hot water heater, Cloths Dryer, wood stove, hot tub
whats on all the time all year around.........Hot Tub and Hot water Heaters

Its best to put your heat source exhaust with the other heat source exhausts.........you can redirect heat

that's what some of the folks use to do back then tj. those are some good points too. just like they use to put pine sol in the air duct to cut down the ordor of the plants to shoot of into the air genus
