In Santa Barbara County, a marijuana bust uncovers an estimated $67 million street value.
More than 16-thousand pot plants were discovered by drug agents in six different locations in Santa Barbara County.
Many of the plants were being grown on national forest land.
This was a two week operation led by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department and the Department of Justice program called CAMP, the Campaign Against Marijuana Plants.
No arrests were made, but there is evidence of people living on site.
"These are Mexican drug cartels that we're dealing with and it does pose a risk to the public safety because if someone does stumble across these grows, they are typically armed and they're there to protect their fields and we don't want public members getting hurt," said Jim Anderson, Santa Barbara County Sheriff.
Today's bust is significant.
So far this year, 16,000 plants were confiscated compared to 2,500 plants in all last year.
