MILLARD - Two Millard residents were arrested Thursday after law enforcement officers seized nearly 50 marijuana plants from their residence.
Harold David Potter, 46, and Cindy Gay Lunsford, 44, are currently in custody in the Adair County Detention Facility on charges of manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana) and felony possession with intent to distribute. Both have a bond of $100,000.
According to a news release provided by the sheriff's department, officers with the Adair County Sheriff's Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted aerial reconnaissance for marijuana cultivation Thursday. After spotting a cluster of plants behind a privacy fence at 309 First St. in Millard, officers made contact with the occupants of the residence.
After obtaining a consent search, officers discovered an extensive marijuana-growing operation that included grow lamps, a large wooden trough containing 23 potted marijuana seeding plants, and outside the residence, 26 large marijuana plants.
Officers also confiscated nine plastic bags containing marijuana seeds, partially used marijuana cigarettes, and marijuana paraphernalia.
