i really have to simplify the way in which i grow my meds, and have therefore decided to return to Hydro rather than soil
IMO, soil grown can't be beat in terms of flavour and organic goodness
but with the new 100% (GHE Sevia and Mineral Magic) organic hydroponic systems, its now possible to grow 100% organohydro herbs from start to finish ( more about that later )
i recieved a new light today, but it was the wrong type !!, yet i was charged for the better ones!
i was passed through to the marketing manager, who had noticed my recent flurry of purchases , and to my amazement i was given FREE, no charge , nada , zip, the system they sent me, and promised to send out the cooltubes priority post
thank you GW for

fan pictured above is going on five years old and still works great
DIY speed controller ( so they burn out fans eh ?, lol )
i had to reduce the diameter due to new room can only manage a 5 inch exhaust
finished fan system will be enclosed in a box and then acousticaly dampened, although fan is quiet when operating at 80% speed
i'll be using acousiduct, fibreglass wrapped ducting for extra silence as well as insulating heat from escaping back into grow room

well inserting the nipples to main tube was a doddle
each dripper sprays in stereo, lol
these are specially designed for growing in pebbles, don't buy the black versions, they emmit far less and are suited for rockwool or coco , or soil
anyways , pacing myself not to get too much done, it took about 20 minutes to set up, and i'm running 40 litres through system
tomorrow i will be inserting an aircage www.autopot.co.uk designed for their single mother pots, in each of the 11 litre Wilma pots , after rinsing and balancing ph of the clay pebbles ( the Diahydro is PH stable, and perfectly inert, it also holds 150 times its weight in water, so i'll be running constant drip, no timers needed)

almost forgot
these four inch clip on fans are great this time of year
only a tenner each
i bought four of them , because they have just made a comeback after being discontinued, could'nt find them anywhere
heavy duty clamp works upside down or any way , and has rubber pads so great grip , no scratches , etc
i have one working away at full breeze beneath me , blowing at the computer
very handy !

ahh.. the joys of a new setup.... fwiw... Ive found black duct tape to hold much better than the gray. A bit more expensive...but it doesnt let go either...
Nice setup, JKP.
If you are going to use BioSevia, you will need a biofiltre if you use hidroton.
Ill keep watching your progress  , im interested in hidroorganic, too...
I use the same little fans, they are great!
Good growing

Black tape sticks better than grey, i'll have to rememmber that Hr , thanks!
i'll be using 3M Chrome , Heatproof tape
its the stickiest tape i have ever encountered, kind of like liquid metal ( careful though as it conducts elecricity very well)
the two trays pictured are optional and are worth every penny, available thru nuticulture ( the US Wilma is different in that it has no top shelf , instead uses a irrigation cage) you can buy these rubberised , non crack trays from Garland, mine are Jumbo size
Knna; Thanks, Bioponics its called , and yes BioSevia, ?, Mineral Magic
i read about it on the weekend , Joe

Those air stones are nice. Much better than the $3 ones at walmart !!!
Other than something like the $60 unit from General Hydroponics, air pumps are just too damn noisy for me anymore. Ya gotta love a powerhead with an active venturi port...

mmm ! interesting
so the spare maxijet pump should maybe be pushed into service, recirculating rez, as well as place oxypots upside down in the bottom of each 11 litre bucket?
if anything it would defineatly make for a more PH stable resevoir/ nutrient
i'll probably do a couple of initial weekly changes whilst i get my head around this system
a chiller is out of the question
but i am going to have a look at "bubble Curtains"!
No Rush, i want to do this one right
without any bugs

Hr; here are those aircages i mentioned
one each will be placed upside down in the base of the 11 litre wilma pots for turbo aeration
i also managed to obtain the real deal Australian Adjustawing Defender, glass coated aluminum, 97% reflective, and fully adjustable
one 600 covers 1.25 metres square

also the drippers don't seem up to scratch , so i'll be using these ; they don't clog easily, and are a neater design

Hey JKP, I don't mean to crap yer thread but I was hoping you wouldn't mind telling me about your experience with the House & Garden line of nutrients, more specifically the shooting Powder you have pictured in that one shot. Also what is that product with the red tape around the top? I had been given a sample kit from an area hydrostore that included the aquaflakes A & B, 1part component-aarde, hydro A & B, top booster, multi-enzym, Bud XL, drip clean, & Coco A & B. I haven't implemented the entire system yet as I picked up the Root Xcelrator(ouch that stuff is expensive) but need just those packets of top shooter. What products have you used of theirs and what have been the results? I tried the budXL and saw almost overnight type of resin production increases!!

GROHARD, shooting powder is a sachet that you add to your tank ( 100litres)
its a foaming bloom booster
i have not used it before, and at

Yo jkp.
I received 2 sample packs from H&G. I used the Roots Excellurator with great results...and still have a bit of it hanging around. Definitely a good product, and while it is expensive on the surface, the product goes a LONG way at 1 ml per gallon if I remember correctly. If a guy had a few grower friends..it would be a worthy split, IMO..and everyone would have PLENTY to use for a year or more. I gave most of the bottles I received away in 10 ml samples.
But what really matters..is that in an aerocloner I saw bumps in 3 days and had roots showing in 5 with this product on a few occasions. The only problem I saw was that it seemed to assist in clogging up the spray jets after 3-4 days and I had to clean the unit midway...whereas I've never had to do that with Clonex...etc. (didn't see roots in 3-5 days with Clonex either though!)
Still wanna give the Aarde product a go. I've only heard good things about this line..but you can't even give it away over here or get folks to give it a try. Ever used it?

Hey JKP, Thanks for the links, I was hoping you infact had used it, and would be able to tell me of your results. I will keep you posted of my results with the line. I am going to implement a test run of the complete line done according to H & G feed schedule, so I'll let you know how it turns out.
Hey SkyHigh, Thanks for your input, I was wondering if you put it in the aerocloner at the same 1ml/gal as you do veg nutes?I'm so Glad you put that in their I had been putting hygrozyme in my E-Z Cloner 120 but I was thinking I could get faster results somehow. I do know that some strains just pop roots faster than others but I'm sure you already know that!LOL So I'm really tryn' to make sure it was a strain you were already familiar with the typical time it takes to root in your system? thanks for your time guys......

Yo Grohard.
I hear ya on the "some strains root faster" gig. I also think that there are times when the factors just all come together and you have a great run. (or they all croak!)
I believe the product works and does speed the process up...but again...I have no solid proof to offer. However, you are making me recall my last 2 aero-bucket <Failures>..where I had very little luck and THOUGHT it was the strain (Choco D)...but am thinking now that the cloning took place at a second garden locale both times and I didn't use this product in the buckets either time..instead I used a Botanicare solution that I'd never used before.
Had such crappy luck with the buckets on those runs, in fact, that I went out and snagged some Dip-N-Grow and did the dip/stick into some RapidRooters...and damn if they all didn't take in a week and pop out roots...
I say give it a shot. Wish now I'd done a side by side test on my buckets..but didn't think of it at the time!
good luck

this new product out there called gel2 root, its like a foam or summat
supposed to produce root in under five days
Ol' Herb** used the stuff with great success and says he'll never go back to his old cloning gel
Skyhigh, i may have the name wrong , but do you know which one i am talking about
GROHARD; may you have A Stellar Grow, looking forward to the GROshow

A-S; man is this reflective film, well , very reflective
until i've done my plumbing and finished insulating building ( 2 inch solid insulation) i cannot assemble the panels
for that matter i cannot find Elmers glue in the UK , and using the spray tak kinda melts the solid plastic!!
i have squeegee and all other tools ( hairdryer?) at the ready
but its taken me all day to hang my extractor
anyway these images don't do diamond mylar full justice , but just to give you an idea of the reflection above the adjustawing reflector ( which is glass coated)
you'll notice what looks like black tape holding up the sheeting against the solid insulation; thats chrome tape!!
anyway, a little progress made today

Hmm that is interesting. I have used this stuff a few times with very, very limited success. They look like little pudding cups filled with a clear jelly like substance.3713
