I've made BHO countless times but I always wonder if I use to much butane and I am evaporating away my hard earned cash.
Is there a general rule of thumb about how much butane to use per oz of plant material?
Can fresh frozen be used or is dry the only way to go?
TIA

It's approximately one 170 gram can of (Nibo or Colibri) butane per 28 grams of meds.

Dry is the way to go. If you have fresh frozen, you can bubble that, dry out the bubble hash and make oil outta that which will REALLY blow your whistle. I use a tube that is roughly 9" x 3/4" and pack it with roughly 10 grams of dry bud clippings. I then blast that with about a 1/4 of a 170 gram can of Colibri. Yield usually woks out to around roughly .5 - .6 grams of oil which I think is pretty good for trim and a 1/4 can of tane. Sometimes you get more, especially when using buds and hash. Yields and quality go up exponentially then.
